About the role

You will own the end-to-end safety strategy and execution for your assigned scope within the HelloFresh operation. You will partner with cross-functional leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks before they result in incidents or regulatory findings. You will champion a data-driven safety culture by analyzing trends, leading investigations, and translating learnings into preventative controls. You will serve as a trusted advisor to business units on safety matters, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and local regulations. You will own the development and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, and training materials for your region. You will lead or support site safety audits, inspections, and emergency preparedness exercises. What you'll do

• Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the safety management system for your scope in alignment with global standards and local regulations.

• Prepare and present safety performance reports, dashboards, and insights to leadership and stakeholders on a regular basis.

• Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to managers and team members on safety expectations, obligations, and best practices.

Requirements

You must possess and continuously apply the following hard requirements as conditions of employment.

• You are legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship, and you hold the right to permanent employment in Canada.
• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• You hold a current Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification or are actively pursuing this designation.
• You have a minimum of 7 years of progressive safety experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• You have direct experience in a food manufacturing, food processing, or high-volume fulfillment environment.
• You have proven experience managing safety programs for unionized workforces.
• You have strong knowledge of Canadian provincial occupational health and safety legislation, including OHSA and related regulations.
• You have demonstrated ability to interpret and apply building, fire, electrical, and mechanical codes relevant to industrial facilities.
• You have experience using safety management systems, incident investigation methodologies, and risk assessment frameworks.
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can present to senior leadership and frontline teams effectively.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office and safety-related software tools, including experience with data analysis and reporting platforms.
• You have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, as the role may require travel between sites.
• You are able to pass a criminal background check and related security screening.
• You are able to comply with company policies on confidentiality, ethical conduct, and conflict of interest.
