Clinical Director
Job description
About the role
This role represents a pivotal leadership opportunity within Brightline's Wisconsin market, where you will exercise strategic oversight over the entire clinical operation. You are the clinical architect responsible for setting the vision, quality standards, and cultural tone that allow our care model to scale effectively. Your work will directly influence the therapeutic experience of thousands of young patients and their families across multiple clinic sites. You will operate as a senior executive partner, shaping not only day-to-day workflows but also the long-term clinical trajectory of the market. Through your leadership, you will ensure that every therapist, manager, and clinician adheres to the highest fidelity to our evidence-based protocols. Ultimately, you will build the infrastructure and governance that allows quality care to expand in lockstep with business growth.

What you'll do
Provide strategic clinical oversight by auditing the charts of your direct reports and monitoring the evaluation methods used by other managers to ensure consistency and excellence.
Partner cross-functionally with business leaders to monitor metrics related to clinic health, clinical quality and outcomes, operational P&L, utilization and capacity, people retention and development, and market growth.
Design and facilitate peer consultation groups in collaboration with the national clinical team, running regular sessions on a weekly to biweekly cadence with an assigned group of clinicians.
Analyze clinical and clinician metrics, performing root cause analysis when trends deviate from targets and collaborating with the national team to implement model or tooling adjustments.
Lead the hiring and development of managers, therapists, and psychologists, ensuring every candidate meets Brightline's clinical and cultural standards.
Deliver comprehensive training to all new hires on Brightline's clinical protocols, operational policies, and procedures, enforcing fidelity to these standards across the market.
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with each direct report at least every two weeks to review clinical care, documentation quality, caseload management, productivity, engagement, and tool usage.
Supervise pre-licensed therapists as necessary, including reviewing and co-signing clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Provide guidance and oversight to clinical managers and supervisors so they can effectively support their own teams and maintain alignment across the market.
Resolve concerns raised by members, clinic staff, or other stakeholders in a thorough and timely manner to maintain trust and operational integrity.
Compassionately hold the clinical team accountable to performance expectations, applying Brightline's tiered performance management practices, including PIPs and peer review, when necessary.
Assess ongoing development and training needs in partnership with national clinical and care operations teams to align individual growth with market demands.
Maintain a limited caseload, particularly during early market development, allocating no more than 60% of time to direct patient care with a gradual reduction as the market expands.
Deliver and oversee a range of patient care services, including psychological testing, therapy, and diagnostic evaluations for conditions such as anxiety, OCD, behavioral and impulse concerns, depression, and trauma.
Implement evidence-based interventions such as CBT, ERP, PMT, DBT, HRT, and other empirically supported approaches while staying current on clinical research and upholding the field's highest ethical standards.
