About the role
Brightline is actively seeking a dedicated Community Engagement Lead to serve as the primary catalyst for adoption and trust within Los Angeles County. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end strategy and execution of community-facing initiatives for the BrightLife Kids program, ensuring alignment with CYBHI partner objectives. You will act as the principal field representative, shaping how BrightLife Kids is perceived by families, schools, and public health institutions across diverse communities. This position requires a proactive thinker who can translate complex behavioral health offerings into accessible, culturally resonant outreach that drives meaningful engagement. You will leverage data to refine tactics, identify high-impact opportunities, and report insights that directly influence program direction and resource allocation. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to build authentic relationships, navigate local ecosystems with agility, and champion the mission of zero-cost virtual support for children and families. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between digital resources and on-the-ground community needs.

Develop and implement comprehensive outreach and marketing strategies tailored to the specific demographics, cultures, and ethnicities of Los Angeles County target populations.
Formulate a partnership strategy that fosters mutual referrals, positioning BrightLife Kids as an indispensable resource within the community ecosystem.
Establish and maintain long-term relationships with senior external partners, including county health officials, school district leadership, and executive directors of major community-based organizations.
Operate with significant autonomy, managing a regional portfolio and presenting comprehensive updates and strategic recommendations at key program milestones.
Design and adapt outreach and marketing strategies that span complex and diverse ecosystems, ensuring program messaging resonates across multiple stakeholder types.
Proactively identify service gaps and market opportunities, contributing directly to the design of new assets and engagement tactics that enhance adoption.
Leverage existing networks and research methods to identify and map contacts within the target county, utilizing platforms such as Google, LinkedIn, and school district websites.
Navigate and persuade varied audiences, from grassroots community groups to executive-level public health boards and School and Office of Education Boards, to align on shared goals for child mental well-being.
Lead and participate in high-visibility activation events, including in-person engagements, online webinars, and school fairs, serving as a respected advocate for the BrightLife Kids mission.
Provide informative materials and facilitate engaging discussions to educate parents and stakeholders about the importance of child mental well-being and the value of BrightLife Kids services.
Distribute branded promotional items and conduct webinars or in-person sessions to increase awareness, participation, and program visibility across the county.
Track key performance metrics related to outreach, engagement, and conversion rates to measure the effectiveness of community strategies.
Regularly report progress, insights, and data-driven recommendations to the manager, marketing team, and upper management to inform strategic decision-making and continuous optimization.
Utilize Salesforce as the primary CRM tool to manage partnership pipelines, track outreach performance, and ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
Continuously gather insights from field engagement efforts and incorporate feedback to rapidly enhance outreach and marketing strategies for improved community response.
Identify opportunities for new content and assets to address evolving needs, particularly in nurturing long-term relationships and sustaining engagement over time.
Demonstrate cultural humility and adaptability to ensure that all communication and outreach efforts are respectful and effective across varied communities.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure program messaging is consistent, accurate, and aligned with organizational goals.
Maintain a detailed understanding of community resources and referral pathways to effectively connect families with additional supports as needed.
Serve as a subject matter expert on community engagement best practices, contributing to the broader knowledge base within BrightLife Kids.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in community engagement, public health, health promotion, or a related field focused on improving access and outcomes for families.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred to ensure effective communication with diverse community members.
Demonstrated experience navigating public and community health systems as well as school-based systems to build programs and drive community adoption.
Proven track record in cold outreach, relationship building, and prospect research to develop high-touch nurture campaigns that yield results.
Advanced experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms to manage partnership pipelines, track outreach performance, and use data to inform strategic decisions.
Deep understanding of communication strategies and proven expertise in engaging specific demographics, cultures, and ethnicities within Los Angeles County.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong public speaking confidence and a history of successful event participation and audience engagement.
Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight, managing complex projects with a proactive growth mindset and high accountability for results.
Strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices in all community interactions and program materials.
Willingness to travel within Los Angeles County as needed to meet partners, attend events, and conduct field outreach activities.
