What you'll do
As FP&A Manager, you will own the deep financial analysis that guides major strategic decisions and influences resource allocation across the organization. You will act as the financial strategist for departments including CX, R&D, People, and G&A, challenging plans and ensuring alignment with company wide objectives. Instead of producing simple reports, you will dissect the company performance and explain the tradeoffs behind every plan, questioning assumptions and exploring alternative scenarios. You will connect daily operational choices to the overall financial health of the business, ensuring that short term actions do not compromise long term goals. This requires you to run detailed models, perform root cause analysis, and highlight early signals of risk or opportunity that may not be visible in surface level metrics. You will then translate these findings into clear strategies that drive execution and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
You will also define the metrics that measure business health and ensure they are consistently applied across teams and over time. You will build the performance narrative that shows leadership how the company is truly tracking against its strategic goals and financial guardrails. This includes both unit level insights and enterprise wide consolidation, requiring you to reconcile data from multiple sources into a coherent picture. When new questions arise, you will conduct ad hoc analyses with speed and precision, delivering answers that inform timely decisions. Strategic planning cycles such as annual planning and long range vision rely on your voice to ground discussions in financial reality. You will ensure that financial reality shapes how the company invests, scales, and prioritizes initiatives across the business.
Bringing AI into the workflow is a core part of this position, as it is seen as a force multiplier for analytical work in a high growth environment. You are expected to use AI tools to generate faster insight and increase analytical efficiency, reducing the time spent on repetitive modeling and data preparation. You should look for ways to apply these tools across the FP&A workflow, from data extraction to scenario testing and narrative generation. You will also help the broader team adopt these new methods as they evolve, sharing practical techniques and establishing standards for responsible AI use. Your goal is to sharpen analysis and improve decision quality across the organization by leveraging technology in a thoughtful and measured way.
Requirements
You have managed the numbers for a fast growing business and made them meaningful, demonstrating an ability to turn raw data into strategic insight. You combine strategic finance experience with a background in investment banking, consulting, or private equity, bringing a disciplined approach to analysis and modeling. You approach data with a careful and exacting mindset, checking your work thoroughly and ensuring that your conclusions are robust. You are highly skilled in tools such as spreadsheets and business intelligence platforms, using them to build flexible models and clear dashboards. You are comfortable handling large, complex data sets without losing precision, maintaining accuracy even as the volume and velocity of information increases.
You build relationships quickly by partnering with leaders and turning analysis into action, ensuring that your insights lead directly to decisions. You take ownership of open ended problems and adapt when priorities shift, structuring ambiguous work and deciding what to tackle first. You anticipate the needs of stakeholders and respond to change without losing focus. You use AI as a practical advantage rather than a distant concept, integrating it into your daily analysis to improve speed and accuracy.
Communication is a core part of this role. You explain intricate ideas differently to finance colleagues than to business or product partners, focusing on the story behind the numbers and ensuring the conclusion is unmistakable. You understand that the role exists to support a mission that changes mental healthcare for the better, recognizing that thoughtful financial stewardship enables Headway to scale responsibly and serve more patients over time.
