Deal Team
Job description
About the role
You will act as the primary commercial strategist for our most complex enterprise agreements, owning the full lifecycle from initial discovery through to execution and post-sale alignment. You will function as an internal check and balance, ensuring that every opportunity we pursue is not only commercially attractive but also operationally feasible and legally sound. This role requires you to build deep trust with client stakeholders so that you can lead high-stakes negotiations with credibility and confidence. You will translate our core commercial framework into bespoke deal structures that respond precisely to the unique context and constraints of each buying organization. You will draft contract language and deal documentation that is both creative in solution design and precise in legal protection. This is a role that demands rigorous analytical thinking paired with the commercial creativity to solve difficult enterprise problems. You will own complex deals with a high degree of independence, making critical decisions with minimal oversight.

What you'll do
Lead the commercial strategy for complex enterprise deals, acting as a co-architect alongside sales, deployments, product, and legal teams from the earliest stages.
Own external, client-facing commercial conversations that require executive-level credibility and the ability to negotiate terms beyond the standard sales engagement.
Translate HappyRobot's overarching commercial framework into custom deal structures that align with a specific customer's unique buying context, constraints, and organizational dynamics.

Draft precise and creative deal documentation and contract language that protects the company while enabling customer success.
Analyze deal economics and build financial models to support pricing decisions, discount structures, and term negotiations.
Independently drive complex deals forward, making timely decisions and removing blockers without requiring constant supervision.
Partner closely with the deployments team to ensure that commercial terms are aligned with implementation capacity and operational realities.
Challenge assumptions across sales, product, and legal to ensure that proposed deals are sustainable and strategically sound.
Own the end-to-end commercial negotiation process, ensuring that agreements are winnable, deliverable, and economically favorable to HappyRobot.
Provide clear, concise, and commercially rigorous written communication that supports faster decision-making and reduces legal back-and-forth.

Maintain a rigorous focus on deal risk, balancing commercial ambition with the practical constraints of delivery and profitability.
Represent HappyRobot in high-stakes conversations with the professionalism and insight befitting a mission-critical infrastructure provider.
