About the role
Grab Financial Services Philippines is on the lookout for a skilled manager to take charge of the entire lending process across various portfolios, including consumer, small and medium-sized enterprises (S/MSME), and secured lending. In this role, you will spearhead credit risk strategies and oversee collections, collaborating closely with regional teams to ensure that local policies are in sync and that the health of the portfolio is maintained.

What you'll do
- Oversee the comprehensive credit risk management process, which includes developing underwriting strategies, monitoring portfolio performance, managing loan loss provisions, and ensuring model governance.
- Create and uphold risk and collections frameworks tailored for secured lending, focusing on aspects such as collateral management, recovery processes, and repossession protocols.
- Lead the collections operations through all phases, from initial stages to final recovery, while ensuring that activities align with the organization's risk appetite.
- Conduct thorough analyses of portfolio data to uncover trends, assess risks, and identify potential growth opportunities.
- Work in partnership with the Data Science, Commercial, and Analytics teams to enhance credit models and refine risk methodologies.
- Draft and periodically update credit policies, and develop performance dashboards to effectively monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with regional teams to navigate local market dynamics and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Engage in stakeholder management, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned with credit risk strategies and collection processes.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management, highlighting portfolio health, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact credit risk and collections, ensuring proactive adjustments to strategies as needed.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in credit risk management, portfolio management, and collections throughout the lending lifecycle.
- Proven experience in either first or second-line credit risk functions, demonstrating a solid understanding of risk management principles.
- A strong hands-on background in secured lending is essential, with a preference for candidates who have experience in auto lending, particularly in recovery and provisioning aspects.
- Demonstrated capability in managing underwriting processes, model governance, and loss-budgeting strategies.
- Experience in overseeing collections functions across the entire debt lifecycle, ensuring effective recovery strategies are in place.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and the ability to secure necessary approvals from relevant authorities.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to function effectively as a senior member of the local team and drive initiatives forward.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with unsecured consumer loans or retail loans, including credit card products.
- Experience with FICO platforms or proficiency in R programming for data analysis and modeling purposes.
- Previous exposure to cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced financial services environment.

- Strong SQL skills for database management and query execution.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI for effective reporting and insights presentation.
