GovTech is on the lookout for a Ministry Chief Information Security Officer to enhance the cyber security framework across various ministries within the Singapore government. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the leading authority on information security management for a designated ministry, ensuring that all digital initiatives are in line with national security standards and protocols.

What you'll do
- Secure endorsement from executive leadership to spearhead the cyber security strategy and develop actionable plans tailored for your ministry and its associated agencies.
- Establish security objectives, guidelines, and procedures that are in alignment with government-wide directives and best practices.
- Foster a culture of risk awareness and acceptance among stakeholders, end users, and ICT personnel to ensure a proactive approach to security.
- Ensure that all operational activities comply with overarching government security policies and frameworks.
- Assess and authorize risk management and mitigation strategies to effectively address potential vulnerabilities.
- Offer expert advice to senior management on the selection and implementation of security technologies that meet the ministry's needs.
- Align IT requirements with national cyber security goals to ensure cohesive and effective security measures.
- Oversee organizational change initiatives to adapt to the evolving landscape of digital threats and challenges.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure that security measures are integrated into all aspects of digital operations.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of security measures and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the security awareness of all staff members within the ministry.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including other government agencies and private sector partners, to share best practices and enhance collaborative security efforts.
Requirements
- A degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline is essential.
- At least 10 years of experience in a management role focused on information security is required.
- Familiarity with ICT operations and the implementation of security policies is crucial.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse, cross-functional teams to develop and monitor security protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong capability to manage relationships with various stakeholders effectively.
- A comprehensive understanding of how business processes interact with IT systems and the implications for security.
- Candidates must be Singapore citizens to be eligible for this position.
Nice to have
- Certification as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is advantageous.
- Certification as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) will be considered a plus.
- Certification as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) is also desirable.
