Key facts
What you'll do
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure platforms across AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and hybrid environments to ensure high availability and performance for government services.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines to standardize deployments and accelerate delivery cycles.
- Support platform observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational dashboards to provide clear visibility into system health and performance.
- Improve infrastructure reliability, resiliency, failover readiness, and operational standards through rigorous testing and validation practices.
- Support container platforms including Kubernetes and related ecosystem tooling to optimize orchestration and resource utilization.
- Automate operational processes, patching, provisioning, compliance checks, and reporting to reduce manual effort and increase consistency.
- Support vulnerability remediation and infrastructure security hardening activities to protect critical government data and systems.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform incidents across compute, network, storage, and cloud services to minimize downtime and service impact.
- Partner with application teams to improve cloud-native adoption and operational readiness through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to platform engineering standards, reusable modules, and engineering best practices to promote consistency and efficiency.
- Support migration and modernisation initiatives from legacy infrastructure to cloud platforms to enhance scalability and reduce technical debt.
- Implement automation frameworks and tools to streamline infrastructure management and support rapid scaling during peak demands.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure infrastructure designs comply with government regulations and cybersecurity standards.
- Monitor infrastructure costs and optimize resource allocation to achieve cost efficiency without compromising performance or reliability.
- Document infrastructure architectures, configurations, and operational procedures to support continuity and onboarding of new team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in platform infrastructure, cloud engineering, or DevOps roles with a strong track record of delivering reliable solutions.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms including AWS and Azure, and experience with hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated skills in container orchestration with Kubernetes and familiarity with container networking and storage concepts.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools to manage platform health and performance metrics.
- Strong knowledge of automation and scripting to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention in routine tasks.
- Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements for government and healthcare-related technology systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across compute, network, storage, and cloud services under pressure.
- Willingness to work closely with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
