About the role

You are a strategic procurement leader who owns the end-to-end sourcing strategy for electronic components and assemblies that bring large scale architectural, artistic and touring projects to life. You own the complete supplier lifecycle from initial market intelligence and supplier qualification to ongoing performance management and continuous improvement initiatives. You translate complex project requirements into actionable procurement plans while balancing cost, risk, and delivery constraints across a global network of vendors. You act as the primary interface between engineering, project management, and finance to ensure procurement decisions align with commercial objectives and technical specifications. You drive market intelligence gathering and competitive analysis to shape category strategies and identify new opportunities for innovation and value creation. You lead cross-functional negotiations and supplier relationship initiatives to secure favorable commercial terms and ensure resilient supply chains. You own the implementation of procurement tools, processes, and best practices to enhance visibility, traceability, and efficiency across the procurement function. You mentor and develop junior team members by providing guidance, feedback, and leadership in a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

What you'll do

Analyze detailed project requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive category strategies and supplier roadmaps for electronic components.

Develop and maintain a robust supplier database, conducting thorough market research to identify new vendors, evaluate capabilities, and map competitive landscapes.

Manage the full source-to-pay cycle for electronic components, including request for quotation, negotiation, contracting, and onboarding of suppliers.

Lead complex negotiations with strategic suppliers to optimize total cost of ownership, establish commercial terms, and secure competitive pricing agreements.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators for suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to define technical specifications, evaluate sample components, and validate supplier capabilities through testing and certification processes.

Forecast demand and assess supply chain risks to develop contingency plans and ensure continuity of supply for critical project components.

Lead procurement projects involving multiple stakeholders, coordinating efforts to meet tight deadlines and demanding project schedules across different time zones.

Utilize procurement analytics and spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities, streamline processes, and support data-driven decision-making at the organizational level.

Champion sustainability and ethical sourcing practices, ensuring suppliers comply with environmental regulations and responsible sourcing standards.

Manage contract documentation and ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements, and internal governance frameworks.

Support the evaluation and selection of suppliers for new technologies and innovative solutions that provide competitive advantages in the marketplace.

Liaise with finance teams to ensure accurate invoicing, payment processing, and budget adherence for all procurement activities.

Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives and long-term vision.

Requirements

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

You bring a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on electronic components or related sectors.

You possess in-depth knowledge of electronic component markets, including semiconductors, connectors, displays, and electromechanical parts.

You have demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships and conducting performance evaluations in a project-based business environment.

You are proficient in using procurement software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools to manage spend and supplier information effectively.

You have a strong understanding of commercial negotiation techniques and contract management principles.

You hold fluency in both French and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.

You are authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship, or are already a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

You are legally authorized to work in Canada, and no employer sponsorship will be provided for work authorization or relocation.

You are willing to travel up to 25% domestically within Canada and internationally as required for supplier visits and project meetings.

Nice to have

Experience in the audiovisual, entertainment, or cultural sectors is considered an asset for understanding specific industry requirements.

Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools is valued for effective coordination of cross-functional initiatives.

Knowledge of sustainability standards and responsible sourcing frameworks is regarded as a positive qualification.

Practical notes

This role requires domestic and international travel up to 25%, including attendance at supplier facilities, project sites, and industry events.

This is a full-time permanent position with standard business hours, requiring availability during core operational periods as needed.
