About the role
You will architect and own the end-to-end global paid media engine that powers demand generation across the UK, Ireland, Europe, and North America. This role is responsible for transforming high-level campaign narratives into quantifiable pipeline and closed-won bookings through a disciplined sales-led, account-based marketing framework. You will own the strategic and operational oversight of performance channels, ensuring that every pound spent drives measurable revenue impact. The position requires a partnership with revenue teams to align messaging with buyer journeys and to de-risk initiatives through structured experimentation. You will be the central owner of the performance marketing stack, balancing scale with efficiency in target account outreach. This role demands a data-led mindset that connects channel activity to pipeline velocity and closed revenue. You will define the guardrails for quality and compliance across all paid initiatives. Ultimately, you will be accountable for the ROI of the global paid media budget and the consistency of the customer acquisition funnel.

What you'll do
- Scale paid acquisition across channels such as LinkedIn, Meta, and Demandbase by identifying high-intent signals and expanding lookalike audiences.
- Manage global paid social budgets and plan media allocations to reach target accounts efficiently while optimizing for cost efficiency and pipeline quality.
- Build campaign structures directly within platforms based on established messaging frameworks to ensure architectural clarity and performance scalability.
- Map target account lists to platform audiences to ensure precise segmentation and the delivery of relevant messaging to the right stakeholders.
- Define creative needs and ad formats in collaboration with the wider demand generation, content, and design teams to maintain brand consistency and message fit.
- Execute a structured testing framework for creative, audience, and channel experiments to refine future strategy and remove underperforming variables.
- Oversee the relationship with our paid media agency, setting performance guardrails and expectations to ensure alignment with internal goals.
- Partner with Marketing Operations to develop accurate cross-channel attribution and report on campaign effectiveness using dashboards and insights.
- Coordinate with regional demand generation managers to align global campaigns with local market priorities and adapt messaging for cultural relevance.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and market trends to inform audience positioning and bid strategies.
- Optimize landing page and conversion touchpoints in conjunction with web teams to improve funnel conversion rates and reduce friction.
- Leverage CRM and marketing automation data to refine audience selection and personalize ad content for key decision-makers.
- Monitor brand safety and viewability metrics to protect the integrity of the GoCardless brand across all published placements.
- Forecast performance outcomes and budget requirements to support executive stakeholders in annual planning and resource allocation.
- Mentor junior marketers on best practices for performance marketing and contribute to the development of playbooks and SOPs.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of performance marketing or paid media experience, preferably in SaaS, payments, or B2B FinTech environments.
- Proven track record of executing within sales-led go-to-market engines and ABM environments where account targeting is critical.
- Hands-on technical expertise in managing campaign architecture end-to-end within paid media platforms, including pixels, audiences, and automation rules.
- Ability to interpret performance data to provide clear recommendations for optimization and creative direction without requiring constant direction.
- Experience managing agency partners and holding them accountable for performance outcomes, including SLAs and reporting standards.
- Proficiency with CRM, Marketing Automation Platforms, and ABM tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, and Demandbase.
- Strong understanding of privacy regulations and cookie-less environments, ensuring compliance while maximizing reach and efficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Paid Social (LinkedIn, Meta) expertise in campaign setup, audience management, and bid strategies.
- Experience with Demandbase or similar ABM platforms for account-based targeting and integration.
- Fluency in CRM and Marketing Automation Platforms to sync data and track lead progression.
- Deep knowledge of ABM (Account-Based Marketing) methodologies and how to apply them to paid media.
- Mastery of Performance Analytics and Attribution models to evaluate channel contribution and inform decisions.
- Familiarity with creative management tools and collaboration software to streamline workflows with design and content teams.
- Basic understanding of HTML and UTM tagging to ensure accurate tracking and data integrity.
- Experience with data visualization tools to build and maintain performance dashboards.

Work
location: This role is based in our Leeds office, and candidates are expected to work primarily from this location.
