Enterprise Collaboration Platforms Administrator
Job description
About the role
You will serve as the primary steward of Gibson Dunn's multi-platform collaboration ecosystem, owning the production administration and governance of Slack Enterprise Grid, Microsoft Teams, and the Lark environment across APAC. You will architect and enforce boundary controls that prevent unauthorized data movement between platforms while rigorously managing AI bot deployments and agent workflows. This role requires precision in configuring compliance and retention policies to align the platforms with the firm's matter-specific obligations and global legal standards. You will act as the central escalation and vendor-support coordinator, interfacing with Slack TAM and Lark enterprise support to resolve complex platform incidents. The position demands a strategic vision to document governance frameworks and translate them into enforceable platform configurations. You will build and maintain custom Lark bots through the Open Platform API and administer lifecycle and identity management via SCIM. Success in this role will be measured by the integrity of data residency, the reliability of eDiscovery exports, and the consistency of governance across all office locations.
Key facts
What you'll do
Orchestrate the production administration of Slack Enterprise Grid, Microsoft Teams, and Lark, ensuring equivalent governance rigor and operational consistency across each ecosystem.
Oversee identity lifecycle management across all collaboration platforms using Entra ID, implementing SCIM provisioning and deprovisioning, SSO configuration, and auditable auto-offboarding procedures.
Maintain a comprehensive registry of deployed applications, bots, and agents, documenting OAuth scopes, data access levels, always-on host dependencies, and approval chains while leading incident response when a bot host goes silent.
Analyze and document cross-platform data flows where Slack, Teams, and Lark coexist, enforcing governance boundaries that prevent unauthorized data movement and conducting security reviews of applications whose message content traverses platform boundaries.
Configure and uphold retention, legal-hold, and eDiscovery export processes across the three primary platforms, aligning them with records management policies and participating in InfoSec audits of app scopes and data residency.
Own the full configuration of the Slack Enterprise Grid org, including workspace provisioning, member access tiers, guest and Slack Connect governance, channel creation and naming policies, and the org-level App Approval Policy.
Administer Slack compliance controls, managing message retention schedules, EKM configuration and key-rotation guidance, DLP integrations such as Nightfall, eDiscovery exports via the Slack API, and Enterprise Grid audit-log exports to SIEM and eDiscovery systems.
Administer Microsoft Teams within the firm's M365 environment, managing lifecycle and naming policies, guest and external access, calling and meeting policies, app policies, and sensitivity labels through Purview.
Configure Teams compliance using Microsoft Purview, establishing communication-compliance policies, retention labels, meeting-recording storage, and eDiscovery for Teams messages and recordings.
Perform full production administration of the Lark Admin Console for the firm's APAC population, handling org and department structure, member roles, SAML 2.0 SSO and SCIM with Entra ID, App Directory governance, and security settings such as two-factor authentication and device trust.
Enforce Lark data residency requirements to ensure that messages, files, and Docs content are stored in the correct region and evaluate Lark AI features for privilege and retention risk in legal communications.
Develop and maintain Lark custom bots via the Lark Open Platform API, including event subscriptions, interactive cards, webhooks, and token lifecycle management, and administer Lark retention, legal-hold exports, audit-log monitoring, and Lark Connect external collaboration.
Publish and maintain detailed governance documentation for each platform, deliver training to attorneys and staff on policies, data classification, and bot interaction guidelines, and serve as the primary escalation point and vendor-support coordinator across all offices.
Coordinate closely with the InfoSec and records management teams to ensure platform configurations meet regulatory and matter-specific obligations, adjusting settings as legal and compliance landscapes evolve.
Monitor platform performance and user adoption metrics, providing regular insights and recommendations to improve efficiency, security, and compliance across the collaboration suite.
Requirements
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences within the firm.
Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex collaboration platform issues and resolve incidents that span multiple systems.
Exhibit a high level of organization and exceptional attention to detail, managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment without compromising accuracy.
Show the ability to adapt to evolving compliance requirements and technology landscapes while maintaining a disciplined approach to governance and risk management.
Possess a deep commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of client information across all collaboration platforms and administrative processes.
Thrive in a client-facing role that requires responsiveness, professionalism, and the ability to partner with attorneys to support high-stakes matters.
Bring a proactive mindset to identifying platform risks, advocating for controls, and implementing best practices that align with the firm's legal and operational objectives.
Embrace continuous learning to keep current with new features, security updates, and compliance standards relevant to collaboration technologies used across the firm's global offices.
