The Senior Litigation Paralegal role is based in Houston. This position supports attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, including case management, court filings, calendaring, document review and production, cite checking, document organization, drafting and responding to discovery, deposition and trial preparation. The role facilitates the smooth progression of cases from inception to resolution, ensuring they are handled efficiently and effectively. This position reports to the Manager, Paralegal Services and Associate Director of Paralegal Services.
Responsibilities
The Senior Litigation Paralegal performs all elements of litigation case management, including file management, discovery, and trial activities. The role assists attorneys with complex matters, ensuring all deadlines and milestones are met. Experience utilizing AI tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency is required, and experience interfacing with client representatives to develop and implement AI workflows is preferred. The Senior Litigation Paralegal ensures the client's document management systems are updated, if applicable. The role assists in ensuring detailed reports and summaries of case activities and developments are current, if applicable. The Senior Litigation Paralegal utilizes existing systems and procedures and/or establishes new procedures to facilitate the organization and retrieval of documents for attorneys on the case team.
This position assists attorneys in all phases of litigation, from case initiation through trial. It assists with calendaring case deadlines, researching Local Rules, Rules of Civil Procedure, and Judge's Standing Orders to ensure strict compliance. The role assists with and drafts court filings and preparations in Federal and State courts. It supports discovery, document collection, organization, review, and productions. The Senior Litigation Paralegal performs proofreading, cite checking, and blue book compliance for court briefs and discovery documents. It assists with deposition, meeting, or interview preparations. The role assists with all aspects of trial and arbitration management, including travel and logistics. It prepares and submits timekeeping reports promptly and prepares various charts and indices. The Senior Litigation Paralegal coordinates with external vendors and performs various day-to-day case management tasks.

The role demands the ability to support complex litigation cases from beginning to end. Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail are essential. The candidate must be flexible and able to multi-task, balancing priorities and tight deadlines. Proactivity is necessary to efficiently handle multiple projects and client matters simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills are mandatory. Superior analytical and reasoning abilities are required. The candidate must exhibit a high degree of initiative and critical-thinking skills, exercising independent judgment in managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented environment. Creative thinking is expected, along with openness to considering multiple approaches to issues and collaborating with other leaders to develop and execute plans. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand the "big picture" and pay attention to detail. The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with members across multiple offices. Availability for travel as needed is required. The ability to work overtime as case demands require is mandatory.
Experience
A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and substantive paralegal experience. The candidate must meet any applicable state requirements governing the performance of paralegal duties, including any required certifications or qualifications.
Compensation
The role offers a competitive annual compensation range of $65,000.00 to $85,000.00.
What You'll Do
You will orchestrate intake workflows so case materials enter cleanly and securely. You will design filing and calendaring systems that track every deadline across multiple courts. You will conduct document review and production while maintaining strict version control. You will draft discovery responses and conduct cite checks to ensure accuracy. You will coordinate deposition and trial logistics, including travel and vendor management. You will manage court filings in Federal and State venues with precise formatting and timing. You will update client document systems and build reliable indices for attorney access. You will support partners on complex matters from initiation through final arbitration or trial.
Requirements
You hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination, meeting state paralegal qualifications. You thrive while managing multiple deadlines and balancing shifting priorities under pressure. You communicate clearly with attorneys, courts, and external vendors to maintain precision in all work. You utilize AI tools to streamline tasks and collaborate on new workflow implementations. You possess strong written and verbal skills paired with superior analytical and critical thinking ability. You demonstrate initiative, independence, and judgment when handling sensitive case information. You are available for occasional travel and can work overtime as case demands require.
