About the role
You will own the design and execution of Ghj's Private Equity sponsor coverage strategy from end to end. You will translate deep due diligence expertise into compelling narratives that de-risk buy-side decisions for sophisticated investors. You will leverage the firm's Quality of Earnings discipline to uncover value drivers and risk factors specific to portfolio company theses. You will act as the trusted intermediary between our sell-side heritage and the buy-side expectations of PE sponsors. You will build and refine a repeatable playbook for diligence, integration readiness, and portfolio value creation. You will shape market perception of Ghj as the go-to advisor for private equity clients across middle-market transactions. You will own key relationships with general partners, investment committees, and deal sourcing partners. You will influence cross-service line collaboration to ensure seamless delivery of audit, tax, advisory, and CFO services within every engagement.

What you'll do
Spearhead the development and implementation of Ghj's Private Equity sponsor coverage strategy.
Originate and own buy-side diligence engagements that convert sponsor interest into closed transactions.
Architect and refine the firm's due intelligence framework tailored to portfolio company investment theses.
Cultivate and steward a portfolio of strategic relationships within the Private Equity community.
Design and deliver customized value creation roadmaps aligned with sponsor objectives and portfolio timelines.
Lead cross-functional teams integrating Audit, Tax, CAAS, and CFO Advisory to underwrite transaction certainty.
Translate complex QofE findings into clear, board-ready narratives for general partner decision forums.
Champion Ghj's differentiated position in the market through thought leadership and targeted outreach.
Own the end-to-end commercial lifecycle from opportunity identification to renewal and expansion.
Set the standard for diligence rigor, insight depth, and client partnership within the Transaction Advisory Services line.
Define and implement playbooks for post-deal integration readiness and portfolio optimization.
Elevate the firm's presence at key industry forums, sponsor forums, and private capital conferences.
Partner with leadership to model pricing discipline and value-based selling approaches for PE clients.
Drive data-driven decisions on resource allocation, capability development, and capability gaps within the PE coverage model.
Requirements
You possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
You hold active CPA certification or comparable professional accounting credential in good standing.
You bring a minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in Transaction Advisory Services.
You have at least eight years of demonstrated experience executing due diligence for private equity sponsors.
You have in-depth experience conducting Quality of Earnings reviews, risk assessments, and balance sheet substantiation.
You are thoroughly experienced in assessing management information systems, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
You have a proven track record of identifying and articulating value drivers and red flag indicators for portfolio companies.
You understand the nuances of deal structures, term sheets, and negotiation dynamics within the middle-market PE context.
You are capable of interpreting complex financial statements, footnotes, and related disclosures across diverse industries.
You exhibit strong professional skepticism, intellectual curiosity, and a bias for actionable insight.
You communicate effectively in written and verbal form to audiences ranging from technical experts to board members.
You collaborate readily with colleagues, sharing knowledge and elevating the collective capability of the team.
You maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive client information and strategic deal data.
You are authorized to work in the United States and do not require work authorization sponsorship at this time.
Nice to have
Experience serving as a trusted advisor to multiple private equity firms across various stages of deployment.
A track record of originating new sponsor relationships and expanding existing engagements within a regional or national footprint.
Demonstrated success in managing due diligence programs with structured playbooks, checklists, and risk scoring methodologies.
Familiarity with common private equity portfolio operating improvement initiatives and value creation levers.
Knowledge of current trends, regulatory landscapes, and emerging risks impacting the middle-market private equity community.
Experience mentoring junior professionals and building high-performing, cross-functional delivery teams.

This role is a Regular Full-time position.
Overtime may be required during peak transaction periods.
