About the role
You will identify, acquire, and onboard new suppliers, primarily tour and experience providers as well as attractions in Japan. You will effectively manage the entire sales funnel, including outreach, negotiation, closing, and onboarding, to consistently hit and exceed your quota. You will collaborate with internal teams to align supplier acquisition with broader business goals, ensuring sustainable growth. You will represent GetYourGuide at relevant industry events to drive acquisition and establish credibility. You will regularly travel (up to 25%) to build strong relationships with suppliers in destination and create long-term partnerships. You will use data to prioritize actions and inform decisions that strengthen GetYourGuide's position in the experience industry.

What you'll do
- Identify, qualify, and acquire new supplier partners across Japan, focusing on tour and experience providers as well as attractions.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through negotiation, closing, and onboarding to ensure seamless integration.
- Own and optimize a high-performing sales pipeline, applying data-driven methods to forecast, prioritize, and close deals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align acquisition strategies with business objectives and long-term growth.
- Represent GetYourGuide at industry conferences, events, and networking opportunities to elevate brand presence and drive acquisition.
- Travel regularly (up to 25%) to meet suppliers in destination, build trust, and foster long-term strategic partnerships.
- Utilize Salesforce and sales enablement tools to track activities, monitor performance, and maintain accurate records.
- Articulate clear value propositions and handle objections by reframing conversations with market insights and competitive context.
- Analyze performance metrics to refine approaches, improve conversion rates, and support continuous process improvement.
- Work autonomously while collaborating with peers to share best practices and elevate the entire sales organization.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Bring 3+ years of B2B sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets.
- Demonstrate experience running a disciplined, data-driven sales process and confidently using sales tools and software, including CRM (e.g., Salesforce).
- Show resilience and a hunger for success, thriving under pressure and consistently raising your own standards.
- Speak Japanese at a native level and possess professional proficiency in English.
- Excel at handling objections, reframing conversations with insights, and creating constructive tension to close challenging deals.
- Apply strong problem-solving skills, leveraging data to prioritize actions and inform decisions.
- Communicate clearly and adapt your messaging to articulate value propositions to diverse audiences for maximum impact.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality sectors.
- Familiarity with the Japanese experience market and local supplier networks.
- Track record of building and maintaining long-term B2B partnerships.
- Experience representing a company at industry events and conferences.
- Fluency in additional languages beyond Japanese and English.
Practical notes
- This is a full-time position based in Tokyo.
- Regular travel within Japan (up to 25%) is required to meet suppliers and partners in destination.
- Visa sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates.
- The working schedule follows a hybrid model with three days in the office (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) and two days of optional remote work.
