What you'll do
- Lead and manage technical teams to ensure the successful execution of projects from inception to completion, adhering to timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams to develop innovative marine technology solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of technical projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and customer requirements.
- Conduct regular project reviews and provide updates to senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the technical team, encouraging innovation and the adoption of best practices.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including project plans, specifications, and reports, ensuring accessibility and clarity for all stakeholders.
- Act as the primary technical liaison for clients, addressing inquiries and providing expert guidance on product capabilities and applications.
- Monitor industry trends and advancements in marine technology, integrating relevant findings into project strategies and product development.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all technical operations and project implementations.
- Mentor and train junior technical staff, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Participate in the recruitment process for technical positions, contributing to the selection of top talent for the organization.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to provide technical insights that support business development efforts and enhance customer engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marine Technology, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical management role, preferably within the marine or technology sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex technical projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of marine technology, including sonar systems, underwater vehicles, and related applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, with a strong focus on delivering results.
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards relevant to the marine industry.
