What you'll do
- Oversee the development and management of technical documentation for Geospectrum's product line, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with industry standards.
- Lead a team of technical writers and trainers, providing mentorship and guidance to foster professional growth and enhance team performance.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and sales teams to gather information and insights necessary for creating comprehensive user manuals, installation guides, and training materials.
- Implement and maintain documentation processes and standards that ensure consistency and quality across all technical publications.
- Design and deliver training programs for both internal staff and external clients, focusing on product usage, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Evaluate and integrate feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of training materials and documentation.
- Manage project timelines and resources effectively to ensure timely delivery of documentation and training initiatives.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technical communication and training methodologies to enhance Geospectrum's offerings.

- Prepare reports and metrics to assess the impact of training programs and documentation on product adoption and customer satisfaction.
- Facilitate workshops and seminars to promote knowledge sharing and best practices within the organization.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical audiences, translating complex concepts into easily understandable language.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing or documentation management, preferably in the technology or engineering sectors.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar software.
- Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical skills to assess training effectiveness and documentation usability.
Nice to have
- Experience in the marine technology or defense industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of content management systems and version control practices.
- Familiarity with multimedia production tools for creating engaging training materials.
- Certification in technical communication or instructional design.

Skills & tools
