What you'll do

• Conduct thorough assessments of supplier quality systems and processes to ensure compliance with Geospectrum's standards.
• Develop and implement quality assurance protocols and procedures to monitor supplier performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality-related issues and facilitate corrective actions as necessary.
• Analyze quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement and drive initiatives that enhance supplier performance.
• Participate in supplier audits and assessments, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production, to ensure that quality standards are integrated into product development processes.
• Prepare detailed reports on supplier quality metrics and present findings to management and stakeholders.
• Train and mentor suppliers on best practices in quality management and compliance with industry standards.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for quality failures and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards relevant to supplier quality management.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Support the development of supplier quality improvement plans and track progress against established goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Proven experience in conducting supplier audits and assessments.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, such as Six Sigma, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Nice to have

• Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a plus.
• Experience in the defense or aerospace industry is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
• Experience with ERP systems and quality management software.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
• Familiarity with quality management software and tools for tracking supplier performance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Excellent organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.

Practical notes

This position is based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and may require occasional travel to supplier sites for audits and assessments.
