What you'll do

• Receive incoming materials and verify their accuracy against purchase orders, ensuring that all items are accounted for and in good condition.
• Organize and store materials in designated areas, maintaining an orderly and efficient workspace that facilitates easy access and inventory management.
• Conduct regular inventory checks to monitor stock levels, identifying discrepancies and reporting them to the inventory management team.
• Prepare materials for production by assembling kits, labeling items, and ensuring that all necessary components are readily available for manufacturing processes.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to coordinate the flow of materials, ensuring timely delivery to production lines.
• Assist in the development and implementation of inventory management procedures to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all health and safety regulations, and participating in safety training as required.
• Support the shipping and receiving processes by preparing outgoing shipments and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing feedback and suggestions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Document all material handling activities accurately in the inventory management system, ensuring that records are up-to-date and reliable.
• Train new employees on material handling procedures and safety practices, fostering a culture of safety and teamwork.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in material handling or logistics are a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a material handling or warehouse role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, with a valid forklift operator certification.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments.
• Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety protocols.

Nice to have

• Experience with inventory management systems and software, particularly in a manufacturing context.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
• Previous experience in a role that required cross-departmental collaboration and teamwork.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and compliance requirements.
• Certification in first aid or workplace safety training.
