About the role
You will define and own the end to end mobile architecture for our geolocation compliance solutions, setting the technical direction that aligns our iOS and Android SDKs with the core service strategy. You will design the data flow and interaction patterns that allow our mobile clients to communicate reliably with our backend geolocation engine under strict compliance and security requirements. You will establish architectural patterns and best practices that ensure our mobile solutions deliver exceptional performance, reliability, and maintainability across a global user base. You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to mobile engineers, translating product strategy into robust technical implementations that anticipate future scale. Your work will directly influence how billions of compliance checks are performed annually across millions of devices worldwide. You will collaborate with engineering managers and product managers to prioritize initiatives, balance technical debt with delivery speed, and make informed trade offs. Your ability to communicate effectively and build consensus across distributed teams will be critical to your success in shaping the long term vision for our mobile platforms.

What you'll do
Architect and evolve the cross platform mobile architecture that powers our geolocation compliance solutions, ensuring alignment with our core service and regulatory requirements.
Lead the technical direction for our iOS and Android SDKs, defining interfaces, integration patterns, and lifecycle management to support seamless operation.
Design and implement robust data flow mechanisms between mobile clients and our geolocation engine, optimizing for performance, reliability, and security.
Establish and enforce architectural patterns, coding standards, and best practices that promote scalability, testability, and maintainability across the mobile codebase.
Collaborate with engineering managers and product managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and delivery plans.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mobile engineers, fostering a culture of quality, continuous learning, and ownership.
Partner with security and compliance experts to ensure our mobile solutions meet industry standards and regulatory obligations worldwide.
Drive innovation in mobile technologies, evaluating new tools, libraries, and methodologies to improve developer experience and product performance.
Act as a key interface between mobile development and other engineering teams, facilitating coordination and alignment on integration and platform strategies.
Champion observability and monitoring initiatives, enabling data driven decisions to improve stability and user experience across our mobile applications.
Contribute to the hiring, onboarding, and development of mobile engineers, helping build a high performing team in Ho Chi Minh City.
Participate in on call rotations and incident response processes to ensure timely resolution of critical issues affecting our mobile SDKs and services.
Engage with the broader engineering organization to share insights, best practices, and lessons learned from production deployments and large scale operations.
Represent Geocomply in the mobile development community, contributing to technical discussions and shaping industry standards for compliance focused mobile solutions.
Requirements
You must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
You must have at least 8 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on mobile platforms.
You must have deep expertise in both iOS development with Swift and Android development with Kotlin, including native UI, networking, and background processing.
You must have hands on experience designing and implementing software architectures for mobile applications that integrate with backend services.
You must have a proven track record of building and maintaining large scale mobile applications that serve millions of users.
You must be comfortable working in a fast paced, agile environment where requirements evolve and technical ambiguity is common.
You must have strong problem solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues across the mobile stack, from client side to server communication.
You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non technical stakeholders.
You must be willing to relocate to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and obtain any necessary work authorization as required by local regulations.
Nice to have
Experience with geolocation, compliance, or anti fraud systems is preferred, as is familiarity with regulatory requirements in regulated industries.
Experience contributing to open source mobile projects or publishing well used libraries is valued.
Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives in a growing organization.

This role is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and requires relocation as part of the hiring process.
