Key facts

What you'll do

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide a clear picture of the company's financial health.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insights and analysis to support financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and prepare necessary documentation for tax filings, working closely with external auditors as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure best practices are followed and compliance is maintained.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems to enhance reporting capabilities and streamline processes.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.
• Participate in audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules and documentation to ensure a smooth audit process.
• Provide training and support to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, as well as relevant financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements in India.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA is a plus.
• Experience with financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and their integration with accounting processes.
• Exposure to international accounting standards and practices.
• Experience in the utilities or energy sector would be advantageous.
