What you'll do

• Provide comprehensive legal support to various departments, including commercial, compliance, and regulatory affairs, ensuring alignment with Bamboohr's business objectives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including customer agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements, to mitigate legal risks.
• Advise on compliance matters related to data protection, privacy laws, and intellectual property rights, ensuring adherence to local and international regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote legal compliance and ethical business practices.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to inform business decisions and strategies, staying updated on relevant legal developments and industry trends.
• Manage disputes and litigation matters, working closely with external legal counsel when necessary to protect the company's interests.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on legal issues, fostering a culture of compliance and awareness throughout the organization.
• Support the development of Bamboohr's corporate governance framework, ensuring that all legal obligations are met and best practices are followed.
• Assist in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions, conducting due diligence and providing legal insights to facilitate successful outcomes.
• Monitor and report on legal risks and compliance issues to senior management, ensuring proactive measures are taken to address potential challenges.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions, offering legal perspectives that align with Bamboohr's long-term goals and objectives.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, enhancing collaboration and communication across the organization.

Requirements

• A law degree from an accredited institution and admission to practice law in Australia.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate legal environment, with a focus on commercial law and compliance.
• Proven track record in contract negotiation and drafting, with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including data protection, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating legal risks.
• Experience in managing external legal counsel and overseeing litigation matters is highly desirable.
