This position centers on building and executing validation strategies that confirm hardware reliability under demanding conditions. You will own the measurement rigs that prove a design meets its electrical and safety requirements. Success in this role requires the discipline to work accurately under pressure while preventing future field failures. You will challenge existing assumptions and guide prototypes from initial bench testing through validated acceptance. The work you perform directly enables safe and efficient production deployment of critical nuclear infrastructure. You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to resolve complex electrical and mechanical integration issues. Your analysis will define how test data is interpreted and communicated to technical stakeholders. Ultimately, you ensure that only fully qualified hardware proceeds to manufacturing and field deployment.

What you'll do
- Develop, design, and maintain custom test solutions for in-house electronics and electro-mechanical hardware.
- Select commercial-off-the-shelf hardware or design PCBAs to power units, measure signals, and apply operational loads.
- Write Python automation to interact with test articles, instruments, and production documentation systems.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to drive reliability and efficiency upgrades.
- Root-cause test anomalies and support mitigation implementation.
- Design test campaigns to verify hardware against lifetime, performance, and safety requirements.
- Configure measurement chains using commercial instruments and custom interfaces to capture critical electrical behavior.
- Script test sequences in Python to drive instruments, log data, and generate traceable records.
- Translate requirements from design and manufacturing teams into detailed test specifications.
- Lead debugging campaigns when anomalies appear, correlating electrical signatures with board-level faults.
- Define regression suites that verify performance, safety margins, and endurance across product lifetimes.
- Build monitoring infrastructure that captures in-field metrics to guide future hardware revisions.
- Champion documentation so procedures, results, and decisions remain clear for auditors and operators.
- Own the entire validation lifecycle from initial concept testing through production qualification.
- Support the creation of test plans that analyze circuits and verify functional performance.
- Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and DAQs to validate electrical behavior.
- Apply understanding of environmental testing methods to qualify hardware for operational conditions.
- Drive efficiency upgrades in testing workflows by refining test procedures and automation.
- Ensure test articles are powered, measured, and loaded using appropriate hardware and software tools.
- Generate clear records that document test methods, results, and conclusions for technical review.
Requirements
- Demonstrate exceptional ability through prior projects or a portfolio of completed work.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in electrical engineering and electronics.
- Possess 1+ years of experience with electronic hardware or software development.
- Possess 1+ years of programming experience using Python or Embedded C/C++ to automate measurement.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment that demands high accuracy.
- Follow detailed procedures and maintain rigorous documentation for validation activities.
- Communicate technical findings clearly to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commit to upholding safety and quality standards for nuclear energy infrastructure.
- Collaborate reliably with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
