What you'll do

• Develop and implement a comprehensive global purchasing strategy that aligns with Galvion's business goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and finance, to forecast procurement needs and optimize inventory levels.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules, ensuring the best value for the company.
• Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and innovation in product development.
• Lead the evaluation and selection process for new suppliers, ensuring they meet Galvion's quality and compliance standards.
• Oversee the purchasing team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective execution of procurement processes.
• Analyze purchasing data and metrics to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in the procurement process, including ethical sourcing practices.
• Manage budgets for purchasing activities, tracking expenditures and ensuring alignment with financial targets.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management on purchasing performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in industry conferences and trade shows to stay informed about new products and innovations in the market.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful purchasing strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiency.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with procurement software and tools, as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing a team.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to procurement and supply chain management.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Experience in the defense or personal protective equipment industry.
• Certification from a recognized procurement or supply chain organization (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
• Multilingual abilities, particularly in French and English, are a plus.
• Familiarity with sustainable sourcing practices and ethical procurement initiatives.
