Galaxy is looking for a dedicated Community Relations Coordinator to serve as a vital link between the company and the communities it supports. This full-time, on-site position is based in Lubbock, Texas, and involves a variety of responsibilities centered around organizing community and corporate events, managing hospitality assets at sports venues, and assisting the Community Relations Manager in fostering strong relationships within local markets. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple logistics simultaneously while engaging effectively with community stakeholders. What you'll do
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all logistics related to community and corporate events hosted by Galaxy, ensuring each event runs smoothly from start to finish.
- Manage relationships with vendors, including catering services, audio/visual providers, decorators, and venue operators, to secure quality services and timely delivery.
- Develop comprehensive event timelines, detailed run-of-show documents, and post-event reports to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams such as marketing, operations, and executive leadership to ensure that each event aligns with Galaxy's brand standards and community outreach objectives.
- Handle all guest communications, including invitations, RSVPs, and on-site attendee management, to provide a seamless experience for participants.
- Conduct site visits prior to events to verify venue readiness, troubleshoot potential issues, and ensure all logistical elements are in place.
- Manage Galaxy's hospitality assets at a local sports venue, including suite operations, to foster relationships with key stakeholders, sponsors, and community leaders.
- Oversee ticket management processes, including tracking, allocation, and distribution, to internal teams, guests, and community partners.
- Coordinate food and beverage services during events, ensuring high-quality offerings and a positive guest experience.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of suite usage, guest lists, expenses, and other relevant data to support reporting and future planning.
- Assist the Community Relations Manager in establishing and nurturing relationships with local civic leaders, nonprofit organizations, community groups, and other stakeholders.
- Represent Galaxy at community meetings, public forums, and local events as needed, acting as an ambassador for the company's community initiatives.
- Identify and help coordinate community partnership opportunities, sponsorships, and grant activities that align with Galaxy's strategic goals.
- Keep detailed records of all community engagement activities, stakeholder contacts, and event outcomes to facilitate reporting, analysis, and ongoing relationship management.
- Support the development of community outreach programs and initiatives that promote Galaxy's presence and positive impact within the local market.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in event coordination, hospitality management, or a related field, demonstrating a strong ability to manage complex logistics.
- Proven organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments, maintaining composure and problem-solving skills during events.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience may substitute.
- Must be able to work on-site in Lubbock, Texas, with flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend events as required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with community members and partners.
- Experience managing hospitality assets at sports venues or similar facilities is a plus.
- Familiarity with ticket management, event registration, and guest tracking systems is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and accountability.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
- Familiarity with ticketing and guest management systems is advantageous.
Practical notes
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Lubbock, Texas. While the primary work location is in Lubbock, some travel within the community or to event sites may be necessary to support event setup, execution, and follow-up. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays is expected, depending on the event schedule. Some events may require additional hours beyond standard business times, and candidates should be prepared to accommodate such needs.
