What you'll do
- Perform detailed structural analysis on aerospace components and systems using advanced engineering tools and methodologies.
- Develop and execute finite element analysis (FEA) simulations to predict the behavior of materials and structures under various loads and conditions.
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards throughout the design process.
- Conduct static and dynamic load analyses, including fatigue and fracture assessments, to evaluate the performance of aerospace structures.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports and documentation to communicate analysis results and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews and provide expert input on structural considerations and potential improvements.
- Support the development of test plans and assist in the interpretation of test data to validate analytical models.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in structural engineering and aerospace design.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on structural analysis techniques and tools.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including systems engineers, materials scientists, and manufacturing specialists, to ensure a holistic approach to design and analysis.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural analysis within the aerospace industry.
- Proficiency in finite element analysis software such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, materials science, and aerospace design principles.
- Experience with static and dynamic analysis techniques, including modal analysis and fatigue analysis.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as FAA and NASA guidelines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required due to government contracts.
Nice to have
- Experience with composite materials and their structural applications in aerospace.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA) principles.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or MATLAB for automation of analysis tasks.
- Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within an engineering team.
