The Opportunity

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to define our technical future. You will own the execution and quality of our software products, setting the architectural direction for the entire stack. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring fluency across the full stack and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment. You will translate business strategy into technical reality and build a scalable engineering organization that delivers with intensity. Success requires deep technical authority, strong partnership skills, and a commitment to responsible, AI-driven development.

Core Responsibilities

You will set the engineering velocity and quality standards for the product team. This involves unblocking development, prioritizing critical work with product leadership, and ensuring reliability is never compromised. You will establish the foundational architectural principles that guide all engineering decisions, reviewing key designs and pushing back on technical debt that threatens long-term goals.

Building the function is a core duty. You will start as a hands-on contributor, managing a growing team of engineers. This includes hiring, mentoring, and developing top talent while fostering a culture of excellence. You will create the processes and tooling that allow the team to scale efficiently without sacrificing output or quality.

You will act as the primary engineering liaison across the organization. This means aligning with product and design on roadmap priorities and translating technical constraints into clear business strategies. You will integrate AI tools into the engineering workflow, defining standards for their use in coding, testing, and operations to accelerate delivery responsibly. Establishing feedback loops to surface quality, reliability, and team health signals early is essential for continuous improvement.

Required Expertise

Your expertise must cover the entire software lifecycle. You possess a rare full-stack mastery:

• Frontend: Profound experience with React and TypeScript, including component architecture, performance optimization, and design systems implementation.
• Backend: Deep knowledge of Node.js and Python, API design principles, service reliability engineering, and data pipeline construction.
• Infrastructure: Extensive work with cloud platforms like GCP and AWS, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and robust observability practices.
• AI/ML Integration: A track record of building LLM-integrated products, managing agentic workflows, and implementing evaluation frameworks for production AI systems.

You have a history of delivering complex software under pressure. You know when to move quickly and when to enforce architectural rigor. You are a first-principles thinker who diagnoses root causes and builds custom tools when necessary. You communicate effectively, moving seamlessly between detailed code reviews and high-level strategic discussions.

Compensation: Base salary range is $180,000 to $260,000 USD per year.

• Demonstrable experience building and shipping complex software systems from start to finish.

• Proven ability to manage cloud infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD on GCP or AWS.
• Experience integrating AI and agentic workflows into production products.
• Strong skill in crafting technical specifications and leading multi-team execution.
• History of performing deep technical reviews and guiding product strategy.
• Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong first-principles reasoning and proactive problem-solving skills.
