What you'll do

• Design and implement secure, distributed systems utilizing a microservices architecture to enhance scalability and reliability.
• Develop and sustain software models that represent logistics entities, including cargo, containers, carriers, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and business stakeholders to convert intricate logistics requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Execute code deployments to production multiple times a day while ensuring the system remains highly available and responsive.
• Analyze performance metrics and conduct thorough post-mortems to uphold high standards of service delivery and continuous improvement.
• Work alongside fellow engineers to tackle complex technical challenges within the freight forwarding sector, fostering a culture of innovation and problem-solving.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for software development within the team.
• Engage in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and technologies.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development, demonstrating a solid foundation in coding and system design.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in system architecture, design, and object-oriented analysis and design (OOA/OOD).
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Ruby, C, C++, Java, or Kotlin, showcasing versatility and adaptability.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates your expertise.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems, emphasizing your ability to work in modern software environments.
• Experience with performance monitoring and optimization techniques, ensuring systems operate efficiently under load.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in developing high-performance, large-scale systems within distributed, multi-tiered environments, highlighting your capability to handle complex projects.
• A strong understanding of operational trade-offs, load balancing, and performance optimization strategies, which will enhance system reliability.
• Proficiency in full software development lifecycle practices, including source control, code reviews, testing, and continuous deployment, ensuring a comprehensive approach to software quality.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, fostering collaboration across teams.
• A preference for writing clean, testable, and maintainable code, reflecting a commitment to software craftsmanship.
