About the role
The owns the end to end execution of air freight operations ensuring cargo moves smoothly across the network. You own the coordination with carriers and partners to secure capacity and manage booked space for both scheduled and charter services. This position requires you to manage the full lifecycle of shipments from booking through final delivery while maintaining strict compliance with airline regulations. You own the consolidation strategy on the export side to optimize container and aircraft space and maximize margin for the business. On the import side you coordinate the clearance and deconsolidation of all shipments within your region resolving exceptions with partners. You work directly with the internal teams and external partners to maintain the Consol Plan aligning flight schedules with booked rates for each movement. The role involves constant communication with partners carriers and internal stakeholders to confirm service levels and solve issues. You use the Flexport Air Planning Tool to track shipments update records and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll do
Coordinate the capacity and fulfillment of Flexport's charter flights and blocked space with carriers and partners in your region.
Optimize Flexport's margin by consolidating shipments to generate free weight and meet the service level requested by customers.
Work closely with partners on the movement of shipments ensuring alignment on timelines and requirements.
Maintain the Consol Plan to link the correct flight schedule and buy rate with each shipment.
Manage day to day air operations handling exceptions and supporting partners as needed.
Collaborate with partners air pricing and operations teams in different destinations to ensure shipments meet committed service levels.
Engage with external parties such as carriers and terminals to coordinate capacity and shipment details.
Ensure all cargo is loaded secured tracked and declared in strict accordance with airline regulations.
Coordinate the clearance and deconsolidation of all import shipments into the region you oversee.
Interact with import partners to solve exceptions and keep shipments moving smoothly.
Work with the technology team to build and enhance the Flexport Air Planning Tool.
Handle customer inquiries and deliver detailed information regarding air cargo services.
Guarantee that every shipment complies with relevant regulations and internal standards.
Follow up on cargo status and delivery confirming timely completion and resolving any issues.
Provide high level customer service and troubleshoot any problems that may arise during transit.
Requirements
You hold a BA or BS degree and bring two to three years of experience in air freight forwarding or logistics.
You have a proven internal track record of success in an operational or planning role within a logistics environment.
You approach work with a hands on process oriented mindset and demonstrate strong problem solving capabilities.
You maintain a client service mindset at all times showing empathy and ownership in every interaction.
You are flexible and willing to work outside regular office hours including occasional weekend or night shifts to support global operations.
You communicate with excellent verbal and written skills using a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
You show strong interpersonal skills and organize your workload efficiently managing multiple priorities at once.
You are comfortable using systems and tools to track shipments and maintain accurate records.
Practical notes
The Air Planning Associate works primarily from the Seoul office and may involve travel to regional hubs when necessary. The role requires availability during evenings or weekends on a rotational basis to support 24 hour global operations. Travel requirements are limited to regional visits and are subject to change based on operational needs. Candidates must be eligible to work in South Korea and comply with local employment regulations. Visas and work permits must be obtained as required by local authorities. This position is open until filled and follows Flexport standard employment policies.
