What you'll do

• Manage a portfolio of accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Communicate effectively with clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings to discuss payment arrangements and resolve any disputes.
• various collection strategies and techniques to encourage prompt payment, including follow-up calls and reminders.
• Document all interactions with clients accurately in our database to maintain up-to-date records of account status.
• Collaborate with the finance team to identify and escalate accounts that require further action, such as legal proceedings.
• Analyze account histories to develop tailored collection strategies that suit individual client circumstances.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding their accounts and payment processes.
• Prepare and send out invoices, statements, and collection letters as needed to facilitate timely payments.
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in collections to continually improve processes and outcomes.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and share insights with colleagues.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in collections, customer service, or a related field, ideally with at least 2 years in a similar role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and build rapport with clients.
• Proficiency in using collection software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
• A results-driven mindset with a strong focus on achieving targets and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of local and international debt collection laws and regulations is a plus.
• Bilingual abilities (English and Spanish) are highly desirable, as they will enhance communication with a diverse client base.
