About the role
You will architect and oversee the lifecycle management of our integration network that links HR, payroll, and benefits data for thousands of organizations. You will define the strategic roadmap for how connections are established, maintained, and expanded across our diverse provider ecosystem. You will own the systems that sit at the heart of Finch's connectivity, determining the scope and depth of data coverage from HRIS and payroll platforms. You will design the authentication flows and data exchange protocols that ensure secure and reliable communication with every external provider. You will partner closely with engineering to translate product requirements into technical specifications that uphold performance and scalability. You will collaborate with customer-facing teams to gather feedback and turn insights into improvements that drive adoption and satisfaction. You will analyze operational metrics to identify bottlenecks and drive initiatives that enhance data quality and reliability across the network. You will act as the central liaison between product, engineering, and customer teams to align on priorities and ensure successful execution.

What you'll do
Define the product vision and long-term strategy for the HRIS and payroll integrations portfolio to align with evolving market demands.
Lead the discovery and synthesis process with customers and stakeholders to uncover new integration opportunities and pain points.
Translate complex technical constraints into clear product requirements that guide engineering teams toward successful implementation.
Design and iterate on authentication and authorization flows to streamline how new connections are established with third-party providers.
Own the prioritization of features and enhancements based on impact on coverage, data quality, performance, and customer adoption.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation for APIs, data models, and integration workflows to support internal and external partners.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to monitor and improve the reliability, completeness, and freshness of integrated data sets.
Partner with customer success and sales teams to build business cases and demonstrate the value of expanded integration capabilities.
Analyze end-to-end integration performance to identify and resolve issues that affect speed, accuracy, or scalability.
Drive the execution of integration launches, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure smooth rollouts and clear communication.
Establish best practices and standards for integration design to ensure consistency and maintainability across the entire provider network.
Evaluate emerging technologies and industry standards to recommend upgrades that keep Finch's platform competitive and future-proof.
Work closely with compliance and security teams to ensure all integrations meet regulatory requirements and data protection policies.
Champion data-driven decision making by defining and tracking key metrics that reflect the health and growth of the integration ecosystem.
Requirements
You must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
You must have at least 5 years of experience in product management, with a strong track record of delivering complex technical products.
You must have demonstrated experience managing integrations or APIs within a SaaS platform or integration platform as a service (iPaaS) environment.
You must have a solid understanding of HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and the data standards that govern them, such as HR-XML, JSON, and CSV.
You must be comfortable working with technical stakeholders and translating between business needs and technical implementation details.
You must have experience working with authentication protocols such as OAuth, SAML, and API key management in production environments.
You must have strong analytical skills and be proficient in using data to measure product performance and drive roadmap decisions.
You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Nice to have
Experience with benefits administration systems and related data schemas.
Familiarity with employment tax regulations and how they intersect with data sharing across platforms.
Knowledge of workflow automation tools and event-driven architectures.
Experience in a people operations or HR technology role within a growing company.
Practical notes
This role is based in San Francisco, New York City, and requires availability during standard business hours.
Travel may be required for customer visits, industry events, and cross-team collaboration.
