About the role
Figure is a company focused on building general purpose humanoid robots intended to address labor shortages and automate hazardous or repetitive tasks. The Robotics Integration Engineer will own the end-to-end system-level integration and validation of our hardware and software stack, ensuring components operate reliably as a unified platform in both lab and production settings. This role requires ownership of test strategy, debugging complex cross-domain failures, and driving measurable confidence in robot behaviors before fleet deployment. You will act as the primary integrator between mechanical, electrical, firmware, controls, AI, and perception teams, translating high-level requirements into verifiable test procedures. The position involves creating and maintaining the bring-up and validation infrastructure that enables rapid iteration while preserving robustness for real-world operation. You will define and execute regression suites that catch regressions early, using data-driven analysis to guide design improvements across the robot stack. Success in this role will be measured by the stability of integration milestones, the clarity of test documentation, and the reduction in field-relevant failure modes over time.

What you'll do
Manage the integration and validation of hardware, firmware, controls, AI, and perception subsystems across the full robot stack.
Create and manage bring-up, validation, and end-of-line test procedures for our humanoid robots, ensuring coverage from lab to production environments.
Write C++ and Python scripts to automate testing, data analysis, and regression tasks, reducing manual effort and increasing test throughput.
Design validation plans that test full-robot capabilities in real-world scenarios, including locomotion, manipulation, and perception tasks.
Perform root cause analysis on complex issues involving mechanical, electrical, and software components to unblock integration milestones.
Work with internal teams to define testable behaviors and verify performance metrics against specification and operational goals.
Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and telemetry logs to characterize robot performance, power systems, and communication integrity.
Track fleet health and system performance through custom dashboards and reports, enabling data-driven decisions on updates and fixes.
Maintain documentation on integration workflows and test outcomes to optimize future builds and support onboarding of new team members.
Collaborate with manufacturing and field teams to ensure that validated builds meet quality, safety, and reliability expectations.
Support on-site troubleshooting during integration campaigns, providing technical leadership to resolve issues quickly and safely.
Contribute to the development of best practices and tooling that standardize integration and validation activities across the organization.
Assist in the creation of internal demos and verification suites that showcase progress and validate key robot competencies.
Partner with research and product teams to align integration efforts with evolving product roadmaps and customer requirements.
Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, execution speed, and result interpretability to accelerate development cycles.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor or Master degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Bring 3 to 5 plus years of professional experience with complex electromechanical or robotic systems, demonstrating a track record of delivering integration milestones.
- Demonstrate proficiency in C++ and Python for development, debugging, and automation of integration tasks.
- Show a comprehensive understanding of system-level interactions between hardware, firmware, and software in robotic platforms.
- Have practical experience with Linux environments, Git version control, and diagnostic hardware such as multimeters and log analyzers.
- Possess hands-on experience validating real-time controls, perception pipelines, or robot behaviors in live test scenarios.
- Exhibit the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, lab-based R&D and production environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
- Be comfortable working in a safety-conscious setting where procedures must be followed rigorously to protect people, equipment, and data.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate well with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and field operations.

Annual base salary range is $170,000 to $250,000.
Total compensation packages are determined based on individual skills, experience, and job-related knowledge.
Engagement is Full-time, 5 days per week in-office in San Jose, Canada. Applicants must be eligible to work in this location under current regulations without sponsorship.
