Global Supply Manager, EE and Semiconductors

About the role

You are a technical and commercial leader responsible for the foundational supply chain of our humanoid robot. You will develop and execute a comprehensive global sourcing strategy for essential components and materials, managing the lifecycle from pre-concept through to the handoff to sustaining operations. Your mission is to align business needs with supplier capabilities while navigating the complex, high-stakes landscape of semiconductor technologies. You will own the end-to-end strategic procurement of critical electronic and semiconductor components that define our product architecture. This role requires deep collaboration with cross-functional partners to de-risk the supply base and secure long-term availability of high-impact materials. You will drive rigorous cost optimization through should-cost analysis and value engineering without compromising on quality or delivery commitments. Ultimately, you will ensure the supply chain is a source of competitive advantage and technical enablement for Figure's robotics ambitions.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute a comprehensive global sourcing strategy for essential components and materials, ensuring long-term scalability for our humanoid robot.
• Create and manage a semiconductor technology roadmap that aligns our product architecture with future industry trends and supplier innovations.
• Own the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and lead the full supplier lifecycle - from identification and qualification to performance evaluation.
• Negotiate high-stakes, long-term deals and strategic supply agreements that secure the high-priority materials required to build and scale our humanoid platform.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and NPI teams to ensure sourcing activities remain perfectly synchronized with product development and production timelines.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, pricing dynamics, lead-time fluctuations, and technical advancements within the global silicon and electronics markets.
• Lead rigorous BOM scrubs and analysis to identify end-of-life (EOL) risks, single-source vulnerabilities, and technical bottlenecks before design freeze.
• Partner with Architecture and Engineering to influence design decisions for optimal cost, performance, and supply-chain resilience.
• Own the "Should-Cost" modeling process to drive aggressive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reductions through negotiation and value engineering.
• Identify vulnerabilities in the EE supply chain, such as geopolitical shifts and capacity constraints, and implement robust hedging and business continuity strategies.
• Negotiate Master Purchase Agreements (MPAs), quality agreements, and Statements of Work (SOWs) that secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Implement and maintain robust supplier performance metrics and lead periodic business reviews to ensure strategic objectives are met.
• Periodically travel to supplier sites to drive initiatives such as cost reductions, relationship building, and supplier development.

Requirements

• 7+ years in global sourcing or commodity management, specifically with semiconductor or complex EE components.
• BS in Engineering (EE preferred), Supply Chain, or Business Management.
• Direct experience managing and sourcing in at least one or two of the following segments: Computing, where you handled Processors (CPUs/GPUs/FPGAs) and Memory (DRAM/NAND); Perception, where you worked with Sensors (IMUs, Lidar, Vision Sensors) and Camera Modules; Power & Motion, where you engaged with Power Management ICs (PMICs), Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Motor Controllers.
• Demonstrated success in high-volume manufacturing environments with complex electronic components and a clear understanding of bill of materials (BOM) discipline.
• Proven ability to negotiate and manage strategic supplier agreements, including Master Purchase Agreements (MPAs) and long-term supply contracts.
• Strong experience with should-cost modeling, cost breakdown analysis, and TCO-driven negotiation strategies.
• Exceptional risk management skills, with a track record of identifying supply chain vulnerabilities and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Advanced proficiency in data analysis and the use of sourcing tools, ERP systems, and supply chain platforms to track performance and forecast needs.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical and operational stakeholders across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management.
• Willingness to travel periodically to supplier locations as required for supplier development and strategic initiatives.
