About the role
Figma is on the lookout for a meticulous and analytical individual to become a part of our finance team, specifically focusing on crucial revenue accounting functions. This position is integral to ensuring precise financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and streamlining operational procedures throughout the monthly closing process. The successful candidate will report directly to the Manager of Technical Revenue Accounting and play a vital role in the financial health of the organization.

What you'll do
- Utilize ASC 606 or IFRS 15 standards to evaluate intricate revenue transactions and contractual agreements, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Conduct month-end closing activities, which include reviewing contracts, posting journal entries, and preparing presentations for stakeholders.
- Supervise internal controls associated with revenue recognition and the quote-to-cash process, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Enhance business systems and documentation practices to boost the efficiency of accounting operations.
- Assist in quarterly reviews and annual audits by preparing PBCs (Prepared By Client documents) and facilitating walkthroughs for auditors.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements aimed at reducing the duration of the accounting close cycle.
- Lead and manage various ad-hoc financial projects as they arise, contributing to the overall financial strategy of the company.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on revenue-related matters and support business growth initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, proactively addressing any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members on revenue accounting practices and procedures, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in corporate revenue accounting or public accounting, preferably in a Software as a Service (SaaS) environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ASC 606 and the ability to interpret contracts effectively.
- Advanced skills in ERP systems such as NetSuite, Workday, or Oracle, with a strong focus on revenue management.
- Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel, coupled with a high level of analytical accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Proven track record of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
Nice to have
- CPA certification or status as a CPA candidate, demonstrating a commitment to professional development.
- Experience in a publicly traded company that adheres to SOX compliance standards.
- High proficiency in the NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management module, particularly in multi-currency environments, is a plus.
- Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting techniques to support strategic decision-making.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, showcasing adaptability and resilience.
