About the role
You will act as the primary point of contact for assigned key accounts, translating customer needs into actionable solutions while safeguarding Field's service standards. You will own the day-to-day relationship management, ensuring that inventory levels, order fulfillment, and quality expectations align with agreed targets. In this role, you will collaborate closely with outside sales, quality assurance, and supply chain partners to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. You will leverage data and feedback to identify opportunities for cost savings, process optimization, and margin expansion on the "C" commodities and fasteners supplied. You will monitor and report on key performance metrics, ensuring that customer requirements are consistently met or exceeded. You will own the administrative and logistical coordination required for VMI programs, maintaining accuracy and timeliness across all activities. What you'll do
Coordinate and execute replenishment plans for assigned accounts, using forecast data and consumption patterns to maintain optimal stock levels.
Perform cycle counts and inventory reconciliations at customer sites to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Process and validate customer orders, confirming specifications, quantities, and delivery dates to prevent errors and delays.
Collaborate with the supply chain team to manage lead times, expedite shortages, and adjust schedules based on changing priorities.
Interface directly with outside sales professionals to align on account strategies, share market feedback, and support sales objectives.
Drive cost reduction initiatives by analyzing spend data, identifying alternative products, and recommending efficient packaging or shipping options.
Monitor inventory performance metrics, including fill rates, stockouts, and turnover, and develop action plans to improve results.
Provide technical guidance on "C" commodities and fasteners, ensuring correct product selection and application for each customer.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions, adjustments, and communications within the company's systems and customer portals.
Support the implementation of VMI programs, including setup, monitoring, and continuous refinement based on performance data.
Work with quality teams to address non-conformance issues, coordinate returns, and implement corrective actions as required.
Promote Field's service offerings and solutions during customer interactions, identifying opportunities for expansion or renewal.
Assist in the development of account presentations and performance reports for internal and customer review.
Adhere to all safety, quality, and compliance standards while performing duties at customer locations.
Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and task prioritization to manage multiple accounts and competing demands.
Requirements
Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Longview, TX, and maintain reliable transportation to customer sites as required.
Must have the right to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment authorization at this time.
Must pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; additional education or technical training is preferred but not required.
Must have at least one year of experience in a customer service, inventory, or warehouse role in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Must demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including the ability to manage data and generate reports.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and handling materials in a warehouse setting.
Nice to have
Previous experience with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs or supply chain operations is preferred.
Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is preferred.
Familiarity with fastener industry products, terminology, and technical specifications is a plus.
Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial distribution environment is preferred.
Basic understanding of pricing, cost analysis, and margin management concepts is beneficial.
Practical notes
This role may require travel between customer sites in the Longview area and Field facilities as needed.
Employees in this role may be required to work during standard business hours, with occasional adjustments to support customer needs or operational requirements.
