You will meticulously document field performance metrics and translate real-world feedback and edge cases directly into actionable product and engineering improvements. What you'll do
- Execute the complete deployment process for robotic AI systems across a wide variety of diverse and demanding operational landscapes.
- Conduct rigorous onsite troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software anomalies in real-time during field operations.
- Perform frequent cross-country travel to manage the full scope of installations, precision calibrations, and comprehensive performance validations at customer sites.
- Partner with remote engineering teams through focused in-person sessions to analyze performance data, diagnose issues, and iteratively refine algorithmic behavior for real-world conditions.
- Interface directly with physical hardware platforms to adjust sensor suites, calibrate perception systems, and modify control logic as required by the field environment.
- Monitor live system telemetry streams to identify emergent patterns of failure and implement immediate corrective actions to maintain system uptime.
- Maintain detailed, structured logs of each field engagement, capturing configurations, anomalies, and resolutions to support continuous improvement and seamless knowledge transfer.
- Verify that deployed AI models consistently meet stringent reliability, safety, and performance standards under a wide spectrum of environmental conditions and edge cases.
- Coordinate schedules and manage expectations with client personnel to ensure field activities align with operational timelines and minimize disruption.
- Evaluate novel edge cases encountered in the field and collaborate with engineering to develop and validate strategies to harden system resilience and robustness.
- Support the collection of high-fidelity performance datasets encountered in the field, which inform long-term model training, validation, and iterative improvement cycles.
- Serve as a mentor to junior staff and less experienced team members by demonstrating best practices in field robotics operations and AI integration methodologies.
- Adapt quickly to new tools, protocols, and site-specific constraints required by each unique customer location and operational requirement.
- Champion and rigorously enforce safety protocols to ensure all field activities are conducted with the utmost regard for the safety of personnel and equipment.
Requirements
- Must be able to work fully onsite while based in St. Louis for the majority of the engagement duration.
- Must be available for frequent nationwide travel to diverse customer locations as project demands require.
- Must commit to a part-time schedule of a minimum of 20 hours per week consistently.
- Must currently reside in the St. Louis area or be willing to relocate to satisfy the essential onsite presence requirement.
- Must hold the legal right to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
- Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing and maintain a clean driving record.
