Key facts
What you'll do
- Support the deployment of AI systems in field environments across Hokkaido and surrounding regions
- Work with robotics teams to identify practical challenges and translate them into technical requirements
- Collect and analyze real-world performance data from deployed models to guide improvements
- Coordinate with local stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of AI solutions into existing workflows
- Assist in setting up and maintaining field hardware and software infrastructure
- Document field observations and share insights with the research and engineering teams
- Help train end users and operational staff on how to interact with the AI systems effectively
- Participate in regular field tests and report findings to the broader team
- Contribute to the refinement of risk-aware decision-making modules used in robotic systems
- Bridge communication between the Hokkaido field team and the central research group at Field Ai
- Collaborate with the research team to define success metrics for field deployments and model iterations
- Provide feedback on model behavior in live environments and suggest areas for further development
- Ensure that all field activities comply with safety standards and organizational protocols
- Support the documentation and reporting of field deployment outcomes for internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working with robotics or AI systems in a field or applied setting
- Familiarity with deploying machine learning models in real-world, non-lab environments
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and reliability considerations for autonomous systems
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a part-time capacity of approximately 30 hours per week
- Preference for candidates who are local to the Hokkaido area
- Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting in field conditions
- Good communication skills for coordinating with both technical and non-technical partners
- Fixed-term availability for the duration of the engagement
- Comfortable with travel within the Hokkaido region for field visits and client meetings
- Degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, robotics, or a related discipline
- Willingness to learn and adapt as the company's technology and field operations evolve
