What you'll do

• Lead and manage the estimating team, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely cost estimates for civil engineering projects.
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
• Review and validate estimates prepared by team members, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.

• Implement and refine estimating processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the estimating department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in cost estimation within the civil construction industry.
• Proven track record of successfully estimating large-scale civil projects, including roads, bridges, and infrastructure.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents and specifications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar applications.
• In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

• Professional certifications such as Certified Estimator (CE) or similar credentials.
• Experience with government contracts and public sector projects.

• Strong mathematical and statistical skills for accurate cost analysis.
• Ability to utilize construction cost databases and resources for benchmarking and pricing.
