What you'll do

• Formulate and implement comprehensive public relations strategies that resonate with Fastly's global vision and objectives.
• Build and maintain robust relationships with journalists and influential figures in the APJ technology and business sectors to enhance media coverage.
• Supervise regional agency partners to ensure that messaging is consistent and meets high standards of quality across all communications.
• Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and leadership, to highlight customer success stories and showcase technical advancements.
• Analyze regional market dynamics to proactively identify opportunities for thought leadership and to position executives effectively within the industry.
• Lead crisis communication efforts, providing strategic counsel on sensitive issues that may arise in the region.
• Develop and distribute press materials, including press releases and media kits, to ensure accurate representation of the company's initiatives and achievements.
• Organize and manage press events, briefings, and other media engagements to promote Fastly's brand and innovations.
• Monitor and report on media coverage and public sentiment, using insights to refine PR strategies and tactics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for PR initiatives that drive business objectives.
• Mentor and guide junior PR team members, fostering a culture of professional growth and development within the team.
• Stay updated on industry trends and competitive landscape to inform PR strategies and enhance Fastly's positioning in the market.

Requirements

• A solid background in public relations, particularly within the technology or cloud infrastructure industries, with a proven track record of success.
• Experience managing communication strategies across multiple countries in the APJ region, demonstrating cultural awareness and adaptability.
• Strong ability to distill complex technical information into engaging and understandable narratives for varied audiences.
• Established network of media contacts within the technology and business press in the APJ region.
• Proven experience in overseeing external PR agencies and managing associated budgets effectively.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to craft compelling messages.
• Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• A proactive mindset with a strategic approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
