Government Pre-Sales Engineer

About the role

The role owns the end-to-end technical pre-sales motion for U.S. Government customers, driving how Exiger's platform, data, and AI capabilities are translated into credible, compliant, and mission-aligned solutions. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor in customer-facing engagements, clearly articulating how Exiger's solutions address mission, compliance, and operational risk challenges. This position sits at the intersection of government mission needs, complex data and integration requirements, and enterprise buying processes. You will partner with Account Executives and capture teams to support complex, high-value federal pursuits across Federal Civilian, Defense, Intelligence Community, and Aerospace and Defense customers. The role involves translating government regulatory, security, and procurement requirements into scalable, repeatable solution designs while owning solution architecture, demonstrations, proof-of-value engagements, and RFP/RFI responses. You will design and deliver tailored demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and technical validations aligned to customer mission priorities. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to ensure technical fidelity, defensibility, and timely execution in a FedRAMP authorized environment trusted by 550+ global customers.

What you'll do

• Own the end-to-end technical pre-sales motion for U.S. Government customers, including solution architecture, demonstrations, proof-of-value engagements, and RFP/RFI responses
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor in customer-facing engagements, clearly articulating how Exiger's solutions address mission, compliance, and operational risk challenges
• Partner with Account Executives and capture teams to support complex, high-value federal pursuits
• Translate government regulatory, security, and procurement requirements into scalable, repeatable solution designs
• Design and deliver tailored demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and technical validations aligned to customer mission priorities
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to ensure technical fidelity, defensibility, and timely execution
• Support due diligence, security reviews, and compliance assessments relevant to government procurement and risk management
• Represent Exiger in Federal, Defense, Intelligence Community, and Aerospace and Defense customer forums and working sessions
• Leverage Exiger's AI platform, 1Exiger, to surface supply chain risk, automate compliance, and unlock operational efficiencies during technical discussions
• Maintain current knowledge of federal regulations, standards, and acquisition policies relevant to supply chain, third-party, and software risk

Requirements

• U.S. citizen required due to the nature of government customer engagements and the handling of sensitive information
• Active Public Trust or ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance within a reasonable timeframe
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of progressive pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting experience, with at least 3 years focused on U.S. Government sales
• Demonstrated experience conducting solution architecture, proof-of-concept design, and customer demonstrations in complex, regulated environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with FedRAMP authorized cloud environments, government procurement processes, and compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CMMC
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and maintain attention to detail across large volumes of information
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically in support of customer engagements, conferences, and internal meetings

Nice to have

• Previous experience in Aerospace and Defense or Defense Intelligence Community customer engagements
• Familiarity with software supply chain risk management, SBOM, and federal guidance such as Executive Order 14028 and NIST SP 800-161
• Experience with AI/ML platforms and how emerging techniques can be applied to risk and compliance problems in regulated environments
• Knowledge of Exiger's 1Exiger platform, proprietary data assets, and workflow automation capabilities
• Understanding of RFP response best practices, including PASTA, STAR, and other government-specific methodologies

• Travel: Up to 25% domestic travel may be required
