This role is pivotal in Detroit, driving technical strategy from initial contact through contract finalization. The successful candidate will translate ambiguous customer challenges into clear, compelling value propositions for Everpure's offerings. You will operate within a dynamic storage market, enabling enterprise accounts and channel partners to secure net-new business opportunities.
This position demands a deep expertise in distributed storage and flash technologies. You will be responsible for owning evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations. The role requires crafting and delivering compelling architecture narratives for Direct Attached Storage (DAS), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and Storage Area Network (SAN) environments. Ultimately, you will convert captured customer requirements into innovative solutions that accelerate capacity and foster innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture & Validation: Champion interoperability, functional, and performance validation to accelerate solution adoption. You will test and verify system capabilities to ensure they meet stringent enterprise requirements.
- Customer Strategy & Value Realization: Chart intricate customer business contexts and decision drivers to align Everpure solutions precisely. Map the Everpure portfolio and partner tools to measurable outcomes for demanding accounts.
- Sales Enablement & Deal Leadership: Enable enterprise accounts, channel partners, and specialists to unlock net-new business growth and secure market expansion. You will take control of complex evaluations and system configurations.
- Technical Communication & Presentation: Build and deliver technical product and architecture presentations with vigor. You will lock in technical wins with clients and prospective accounts through clear, authoritative communication.
- Competitive & Market Intelligence: Maintain superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures, including FC, iSCSI, NAS, SAN, and OSD. Stay current with the competition to ensure our positioning reflects differentiated capabilities. Move with market trends and the competitive landscape to promote thought leadership.
- Internal Collaboration & Roadmapping: Liaise with product and technical marketing to produce supporting materials such as white papers and web presentations. Promote mutual roadmap and planning exchanges with internal teams.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Experience: Demonstrate at least five years of relevant pre-sales experience within enterprise storage or similar high-tech markets. A background supporting sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts is essential.
- Technical Architecture Knowledge: Show deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions.
- Modern Web & Cloud Fluency: Bring familiarity with modern web architecture, including stacks and container-based deployment patterns. A plus is understanding cloud frameworks, the LAMP stack, scale-out versus scale-up architectures, and the AWS Well-Architected framework.
- Core Storage Expertise: Prove superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures, including Fibre Channel (FC), iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN.
- Hands-On System Experience: Have practical experience with Linux environments, NFS file systems, and distributed network storage settings. This includes installation, configuration, and tuning of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, and cache architectures.
- Digital Transformation Focus: Display strong skills in digital transformation strategies, moving systems toward cloud-native architectures, on-premise deployments, public cloud provisioning, and automation.
- Solution Development: Contribute significant portions or lead responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and Requests for Information (RFIs) for large-scale storage engagements.
Nice to Have
