About the role
We are seeking a Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, Enterprise to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will own complex enterprise sales cycles from initial contact to signed contract. You will translate intricate storage architectures into clear business value for data-driven teams. Your contributions will directly influence how customers move, protect, and utilize their data on a daily basis.
This position is a pre-sales technical specialist role focused on enterprise accounts. The total compensation package includes a base salary of $120,000 USD, with an on-target earnings (OTE) of $160,000 USD.
You will be responsible for designing technical narratives that align the Everpure portfolio with specific client strategic initiatives. This involves championing storage solutions across Direct-Attached Storage (DAS), Network-Attached Storage (NAS), and Storage Area Network (SAN) landscapes, carefully mapping features to measurable client outcomes. You will coordinate closely with partners, account managers, and channel teams to deliver cohesive go-to-market strategies.
A core part of your role will involve guiding evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations that de-risk deployment decisions for key stakeholders. You will translate complex business requirements into robust architectures that support cloud-native, on-premises, and hybrid environments. You will present compelling narratives that highlight the competitive differentials of flash-centric data platforms.
Interfacing with product teams is essential to shape messaging, positioning, and proof of concept materials for target markets. You will validate interoperability, performance, and functional criteria through targeted testing and validation efforts. Tracking emerging storage technologies and competitor movements will be ongoing to sustain thought leadership in the sector. You will actively advance core organizational values, including persistence, creativity, teamwork, ownership, and a customer-first mindset.
Requirements
Candidates must bring enterprise pre-sales experience focused on storage, networking, and distributed systems. A minimum of five years of experience in technology, design, and communications roles supporting enterprise deals is required.
You must possess an in-depth understanding of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing architectures. Familiarity with modern web stacks, scale-out patterns, AWS well-architected frameworks, and microservices concepts is necessary. You must have a proven history of converting new prospects into committed clients within large account environments.
You will lead the creation of responses to Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Quotation (RFQ), and Requests for Information (RFI), contributing detailed technical sections and integration requirements. Expert-level knowledge of storage architectures such as Fibre Channel (FC), Internet Small Computer Systems Interface (iSCSI), NAS, Object Storage Device (OSD), and SAN is mandatory.
Hands-on experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and distributed network operations in enterprise settings is required. You will design installation and configuration for distributed computing, storage subsystems, cache architectures, and windowing platforms. You will guide digital transformation programs across on-premises, public cloud, provision automation, and container strategies.
Fluency with VMware, local area networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general storage protocols is essential for this role.
