What you'll do
- Lead and manage engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, specifications, and schedules that align with client expectations.
- Conduct thorough assessments of project requirements, including feasibility studies and risk analyses, to inform decision-making processes.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of engineering documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing updates on project progress and milestones.
- Facilitate regular project meetings with stakeholders to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Monitor project performance metrics, implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure project goals are met.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and team members, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve project outcomes and engineering processes.
- Ensure all engineering activities adhere to safety regulations and quality assurance protocols, maintaining a safe work environment.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring financial accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Utilize project management software and tools to streamline project workflows and enhance communication among team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or management within the engineering sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with experience in software such as Microsoft Project or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and proactive.
- Familiarity with relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations applicable to the industry.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other engineering design software.
- Background in environmental engineering or sustainable design practices.
- Knowledge of contract management and negotiation skills.
