About the role

Key facts
What you'll do
- Conduct regular safety inspections of job sites, equipment, and facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal policies.
- Identify potential hazards and risks, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to mitigate these risks.
- Develop and implement safety training programs for employees, ensuring they are well-informed about safety protocols and best practices.
- Collaborate with project managers and team leads to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions, ensuring all documentation is up to date and accessible.
- Investigate accidents and near-misses, compiling reports that detail findings and suggesting improvements to prevent future incidents.
- Stay current with local, state, and federal safety regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant with all applicable laws.
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety concerns, providing guidance and support to foster a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety meetings and workshops, contributing to discussions on safety improvements and best practices.
- Monitor the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to enhance overall safety performance.
- Liaise with external safety agencies and regulatory bodies as needed, ensuring that Ensiteusa maintains a positive relationship with these organizations.
- Promote a culture of safety within the organization, encouraging employees to prioritize safety in all aspects of their work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in safety inspection or a similar role, preferably within the construction or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards applicable to the industry.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough inspections and identify safety hazards effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey safety information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess situations and make informed decisions quickly.
- Proficiency in using safety inspection software and tools, as well as standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
Nice to have
- Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) or similar credentials.
- Experience in conducting safety training sessions or workshops.
- Familiarity with environmental safety regulations and practices.
- Previous experience in a leadership role related to safety management.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene practices and principles.
