Key facts
What you'll do
- Conduct thorough inspections of compressor stations and related facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
- Evaluate equipment performance and operational efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and recommending necessary modifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to address any identified issues promptly and effectively.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, recommendations, and compliance status for management review.
- Monitor and assess environmental impact and compliance with relevant environmental regulations.
- Participate in safety audits and risk assessments, contributing to the development of safety protocols and best practices.
- Assist in the training and development of junior inspectors and other staff members on inspection procedures and safety standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements to ensure best practices are followed.
- Engage with external regulatory bodies during inspections and audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Facilitate communication between various departments to ensure alignment on inspection findings and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation for regulatory purposes.
- Support emergency response efforts by providing expertise and guidance during incidents involving compressor stations and facilities.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in inspection, maintenance, or operations within the oil and gas industry, specifically related to compressor stations.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices related to compressor station operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
- Proficient in using inspection tools and technologies, including but not limited to pressure gauges, flow meters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
Nice to have
- Certification from a recognized industry body, such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) or the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE).
- Experience with environmental compliance and impact assessments related to compressor stations.
- Familiarity with advanced inspection technologies, such as drones or automated inspection systems.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an inspection team.
- Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Familiarity with inspection management software and databases to track inspection schedules and results.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, instrumentation, and control systems related to compressor operations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications relevant to compressor stations and facilities.
