What you'll do
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for various engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and software engineers, to create integrated solutions that meet project requirements.
- Oversee the testing and validation of mechanical designs, analyzing performance data to make informed decisions for improvements.
- Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, design reports, and test plans.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth within the team.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring that all deliverables are met on schedule and within financial constraints.
- Conduct root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and technology, applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
- Participate in client meetings to understand project needs and provide technical expertise, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and approve designs and modifications, ensuring that all engineering work aligns with company standards and best practices.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components, negotiating contracts to achieve the best value for the company.
- Prepare and present technical reports to stakeholders, clearly communicating complex engineering concepts in an understandable manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD) for designing and modeling mechanical components.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of analyzing complex engineering challenges and developing effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the engineering industry.
Nice to have
- Experience in the aerospace, automotive, or energy sectors, providing a diverse perspective on mechanical engineering applications.
- Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools for advanced simulations.
- Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) or similar professional designation.

- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
