About the role

As a Senior Designer at Bamboohr, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of our projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative design solutions that meet our clients' needs and elevate their brands. This position requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and technical expertise, allowing you to influence the design direction of our initiatives while mentoring junior designers. What you'll do

Lead the design process from concept to execution, ensuring that all visual elements align with project goals and client expectations.
Collaborate with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into compelling design solutions.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that effectively communicate design ideas and user experiences.
Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all platforms and products.
Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs based on user insights.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and creative team environment.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously enhance your design skills and knowledge.
Present design concepts and rationale to clients and internal teams, articulating the strategic thinking behind your design choices.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
Collaborate with marketing teams to create visually appealing promotional materials that align with brand guidelines.
Work closely with developers to ensure the seamless implementation of designs, addressing any technical constraints that may arise.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the overall creative direction of the company's projects.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of professional design experience, preferably in a digital or interactive environment.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and prototyping tools like Sketch or Figma.
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, demonstrating creativity and problem-solving skills.
Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and able to work independently.

Nice to have

Experience in motion graphics or animation is a plus.
Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to better collaborate with developers.
Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a design team.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in design.
Experience working in an agile development environment.

Skills & tools

Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for aesthetics and details.
Proficient in creating user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that enhance user experience.
Ability to conduct user research and apply findings to improve design outcomes.
Familiarity with project management tools such as Trello, Asana, or Jira to track project progress.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Practical notes

This position is based in Lexington, Kentucky, and may require occasional travel for client meetings or project presentations.
