This Certified Home Health Aide position is based in the Morris County, NJ region and operates as a hybrid role requiring travel between patient locations.

What you'll do

You will provide in-home, direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff within the Morris County, NJ region. Your responsibilities will include caring for a census of 5-6 patients during assigned shifts and delivering compassionate, skilled support that promotes comfort and dignity. Specific duties include assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), such as personal hygiene, grooming, mouth care, skin care, and nail care. You will provide support with toileting, positioning, and transfer activities, including frequent turning and positioning of bed-bound residents or patients. You will assist with prescribed exercises and range-of-motion (ROM) activities as instructed by the Hospice Nurse. Additional tasks include performing light housekeeping for the patient's personal unit or room, such as changing bed linen and handling patient laundry, feeding patients, and assisting with meals to meet nutritional needs. You will promptly and accurately report any changes in the resident's or patient's condition to the supervising nurse. The role also includes looking for full-time opportunities and providing tuck-in services as required by the care plan, maintaining open communication with the healthcare team, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must meet the specific requirements set by the New Jersey Board of Nursing for homemaker-home health aides. This includes completion of a training program approved by the Board and certification in accordance with NJSA 45:11-23 et seq and NJAC 13:37. You must have completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training, with at least 16 hours devoted to supervised practical training and at least 16 hours of classroom instruction. One year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), hospice aide, or home health aide is required, with hospice experience preferred. You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license with an insured automobile in good working order. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. You must also possess the physical ability to perform caregiving tasks that may include lifting, transferring, and prolonged standing. A background check and compliance with all health and safety requirements for employment in healthcare settings are mandatory. Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship for the initial employment period.

Practical notes

This role requires a valid driver's license and personal vehicle due to the geographic nature of the position. You must be able to travel between patient locations within Morris County and surrounding areas as scheduled. No visa sponsorship is available for this position at this time.
