Key facts
What you'll do
Exploration of high-potential problem spaces with Embedding VC partners uncovers promising venture directions. New AI venture ideas move from concept to prototype through guided experimentation and user feedback. Rapid prototyping, assumption testing, and early traction validation refine product direction iteratively. Collaboration with AI researchers, engineers, and operators strengthens solution design and technical feasibility. Funding access, design support, and recruiting assistance accelerate the path to company formation once clarity emerges.
Requirements
Builder experience with end-to-end product delivery demonstrates execution capability and operational judgment. Deep curiosity for AI systems, developer tools, or applied reasoning technologies guides focus and learning priorities. Independent work at speed suits an individual who moves fast, iterates often, and thrives in ambiguity. Consistent in-person presence part of the week in the San Francisco Bay Area supports team collaboration and partnership duties.
Nice to have
Hands-on exploration of LLM-based systems, agents, or AI developer tools shows relevant technical familiarity. Prior startup founding or early technical leadership experience strengthens execution context and founder readiness.
Practical notes
US work eligibility or visa sponsorship aligns with the Palo Alto location and team structure. Typical interview steps
People team interviews usually include a case scenario, a policy question, and behavioral rounds. Candidates may be asked to design an interview process or handle a sensitive employee situation. Confidentiality and judgment are tested throughout. Structured answers with empathy land best. Interviewers often test how you handle sensitive information and disagreement. Framing answers around policy, fairness, and company values works well.
Good to know
AI-native ventures rely on engineering, product, and research alignment to deliver robust solutions. Domain tools include LLM workflows, agent frameworks, and developer platforms that shape modern intelligent systems. Builder-led environments prioritize speed, creativity, and ecosystem access to accelerate venture outcomes. Portfolio teams provide advisory and investor networks that support growth and fundraising. Hybrid models balance flexibility with focused collaboration and shared decision-making.
Questions to ask
Good questions to ask the employer in the interview: what does success look like in the first six months, how is the team structured, what is the current biggest challenge, and how are decisions made. Asking about growth paths and the review process is also well received. Employers expect questions, and good ones show preparation.
Career growth
People careers grow from coordinator to generalist, manager, and director levels. Recruiters can move into talent leadership. HR partners can move into people operations leadership. Business acumen becomes more important at each level. People careers reward breadth across recruitment, development, and operations. Experience with tools such as HRIS and ATS systems helps at every level.
