Staff Product Designer
Job description
About the role
EasyLlama is on a mission to end checkbox compliance. We started by reinventing compliance training with engaging, bite-sized, mobile-first learning instead of outdated, one-size-fits-all courses. Today, we are building an AI-powered Human Risk Management platform that helps organizations reduce risk through modern training, policy management, phishing simulations, and intelligent automation. Our goal is to help companies build compliance programs that are effective, measurable, and built for the way people work today. More than 6,000 organizations, including Shake Shack, WeightWatchers, Sephora, Jiffy Lube, and Y Combinator, trust EasyLlama. We are proudly bootstrapped, profitable, and recognized on the Inc. 5000 list, with a 96% G2 rating and industry-leading NPS and CSAT scores. We move quickly, value ownership and collaboration, and believe the best ideas come from people who are excited to solve meaningful problems and make a real impact. Our CORE values, summarized as DRIVE, define how we work as Doers, Resourceful, Impactful, Valued Partners, and Excellence-Focused partners in all we do.
This Staff Product Designer role owns the design and optimization of EasyLlama's core platform experiences at a strategic, staff level. You will define interaction models for platform-level systems, not just UI layers, covering content metadata, training assignment logic, document and policy management, recertification automation, and cross-product orchestration. You will translate complex platform architecture involving metadata, automation, and agentic AI workflows into clear, intuitive, and trusted user experiences that drive activation, engagement, and expansion. You will partner with senior stakeholders to own the design process and end-to-end platform experience, identifying critical friction points and evangelizing contemporary design paradigms while championing innovation. You will embed AI-driven recommendations and intelligent automation throughout the platform, treating AI as a foundational layer of the systems you design and ensuring these experiences are usable, trustworthy, and effective for our customers.
Key facts
What you'll do
Design the end-to-end systems that drive customer value, including onboarding, product and content discovery, training course assignment flows, cross-product expansion, and AI agents that own meaningful tasks and programs for our users.
Define interaction models for platform-level systems, covering content metadata, training assignment logic, document and policy management, recertification automation, and cross-product orchestration that work seamlessly across our multi-product environment.
Translate complex platform architecture, including metadata structures, automation logic, and agentic AI workflows, into clear, intuitive, and trusted user experiences that reduce cognitive load and build confidence.
Own the simplification of EasyLlama's most critical UX challenges, such as framing features that are orchestrated into a cohesive, multi-product user experience that feels unified and coherent.
Actively practice use of AI tooling within your workflow, such as prototyping with modern tools like Lovable, v0, and Figma Make, to create clickable MVPs in a day and rapidly turn rough prototypes into dev-ready specifications.
Design AI-driven systems, including recommendation engines, intelligent automation, and AI agents, that are usable, trustworthy, and effective for both compliance and security awareness contexts.
Embed AI workflows and actionable guidance into the product in ways users understand and trust, ensuring that AI capabilities enhance rather than complicate the core user journey.
Partner with Product Management and Legal experts to design and innovate within defined guardrails for compliance-critical AI experiences, ensuring that risk and regulatory requirements are addressed in the design.
Act as a Design Leader across platform initiatives, influencing decisions beyond your immediate scope by contributing new patterns to the EasyLlama Design System and extending its capabilities in partnership with the Design System owner.
Partner closely with Senior Management, Product Management, Engineering, and Data Analytics Leads to align on product strategy, prioritize scope, and define success metrics for platform initiatives.
Contribute to the design process by running and synthesizing user research, incorporating insights from stakeholders and customers to inform design decisions that improve core growth metrics.
Ship measurable improvements to core growth metrics by defining experiments, working with Data to interpret results, and iterating on designs based on evidence and user feedback.
Advocate for contemporary design paradigms and best practices, ensuring that the platform experience evolves in line with industry standards and user expectations over time.
Champion innovation by exploring emerging interaction models, AI capabilities, and platform opportunities that create differentiated value for our customers and set EasyLlama apart in the market.
Own end-to-end responsibilities that span discovery, concept development, prototyping, production design, and collaboration with implementation teams to ensure design integrity is maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirements
You have 8+ years of experience in product design, with a strong track record of designing complex digital platforms and enterprise-grade user experiences.
You have deep expertise in interaction and systems design, including designing platform-level interaction models, information architecture, and cross-product experiences that scale.
You are highly proficient with modern design tools such as Figma, and comfortable working directly with component libraries, design tokens, and engineering partners to implement robust, production-ready designs.
You have demonstrated experience designing AI-native experiences and workflows, including working with recommendation systems, intelligent automation, and AI agents, and you understand the associated usability and trust challenges.
You are comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, making decisions with incomplete information while maintaining a bias for action and ownership.
You communicate clearly and persuasively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you are skilled at presenting design rationale backed by user research, data, and best practices.
You have a strong sense of product thinking and business acumen, understanding how design decisions impact activation, engagement, retention, and other core growth metrics in a SaaS environment.
You are a collaborative leader who influences through empathy, clarity, and consistency, and you actively seek feedback to refine your work and support your teammates.
Nice to have
Experience contributing to design systems at scale, and familiarity with extending component libraries and design tokens for enterprise products.
Background in compliance, security awareness, or regulated industries, and understanding of the constraints and nuances of compliance-driven product experiences.
