Business Development Representative

About the role
This position is tailored for ambitious professionals who are launching a sales career within the edtech sector and are eager to build a foundation in a structured environment. The team behind Easygenerator operates an AI-first e-learning tool designed to simplify knowledge sharing for organizations worldwide. Success in this role is driven by proactive outreach, disciplined follow-up, and the ability to communicate value clearly to decision-makers. The representative will be expected to listen actively to prospects, understand their specific challenges, and position the platform as a solution that drives engagement and learning outcomes. This is a quota-driven role that moves at a fast pace, rewarding consistent activity, resilience, and a data-informed approach to selling. Strong sellers combine intuition with process, using proven techniques to qualify opportunities and advance deals through a defined sales methodology. The role provides structured training on the product and the sales process, enabling the hire to operate independently while contributing to the company's growth trajectory in the competitive edtech market.
Key facts
What you'll do
Outbound actions uncover qualified opportunities by reaching key decision-makers through targeted channels such as email, phone, and LinkedIn messaging. Each outreach sequence is planned and adjusted based on response data, using cold calls, personalized emails, and social touchpoints to build interest and move prospects toward a conversation. Lead assessments are conducted to clarify needs, pain points, and strategic goals, ensuring that only high-fit opportunities are pursued and documented. Strategic account lists are built, organized, and prioritized within assigned territories to focus efforts on organizations that align with ideal customer profiles. The representative runs live and asynchronous demos of the AI-first e-learning tool, highlighting how it enables teams to create engaging content quickly and at scale. Objections related to budget, timing, or perceived complexity are handled with empathy and clear information, reinforcing trust and positioning the solution as a practical choice. Opportunities are tracked in detail, with insights captured on motivations, stakeholders, and decision criteria to inform future outreach and refine the sales approach. Reporting and pipeline management are handled through CRM systems, ensuring that activities, outcomes, and next steps are visible to managers and stakeholders. Collaboration with internal teams supports the creation of tailored content, responses to technical questions, and alignment on product positioning in the market. The role contributes directly to revenue generation by converting early-stage conversations into scheduled evaluations, pilot initiatives, and closed deals.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree or higher is mandatory for this role, providing a foundational level of communication and analytical ability. Candidates must bring 0-2 years of relevant work experience at entry level, demonstrating capacity to learn quickly and adapt to new environments. Fluency in English and German at native level is required in both speaking and writing to ensure clear communication with international stakeholders. Comfort with cold calling and cold outreach defines the day-to-day communication style, as the majority of activities will involve initiating contact with unfamiliar organizations. Clear, goal-oriented communication removes ambiguity in every interaction, ensuring that objectives, expectations, and next steps are understood by all parties. Initiative drives effective multitasking, prioritization, and time management, allowing the representative to manage multiple opportunities and follow-ups without constant supervision. A high-energy, positive attitude supports performance in a fast-paced setting, where targets must be met and momentum maintained over time. Collaboration thrives within a diverse, international team environment, exposing the representative to different working styles, markets, and perspectives. Willingness to adhere to a defined sales process and accept structured training ensures consistency in how deals are researched, presented, and closed. Commitment to ethical selling practices and compliance with company policies is expected at all times in interactions with prospects and partners.
Nice to have
Hands-on experience with AI tools helps adapt quickly to the product and understand how it can be applied in real learning scenarios.
Skills & tools
Sales outreach activities rely on CRM systems, email platforms, and LinkedIn to manage contacts, track conversations, and measure engagement over time. AI features in products and internal workflows support smarter selling habits by automating routine tasks and surfacing relevant insights. Familiarity with e-learning concepts and terminology allows the representative to discuss features with authority and translate product capabilities into tangible outcomes for customers. Comfort with technology and data encourages experimentation with new tools, enabling the representative to optimize sequences, test messaging, and refine targeting strategies. Effective use of communication tools supports asynchronous dialogue, ensuring that messages are concise, well-structured, and aligned with the company's positioning in the edtech space.
Practical notes
Hybrid work follows a 3 days on-site and 2 days WFH schedule, requiring flexibility to work from the Dubai office on designated days. Team members come from 40+ nationalities in a fast-growing scale-up, creating a dynamic and culturally diverse atmosphere that demands adaptability. Typical interview steps in sales hiring often include a role play, a discovery call simulation, and a presentation to assess how candidates handle real-world scenarios. Candidates may be asked to pitch the product to a panel or handle a tough objection, testing their ability to think on their feet and respond to challenges. Behavioral questions focus on past quota attainment and deal history, so candidates should be prepared to discuss concrete examples of their performance. Energy and preparation matter, as interviewers often simulate the job in the interview itself, so be ready to run a short discovery call or demo. Practicing your own sales pitch out loud helps build confidence and improves clarity in live conversations.
Good to know
Roles in edtech often combine product understanding with consultative selling, requiring the representative to act as a trusted advisor rather than a scripted presenter. CRM platforms and sales automation tools are central to tracking pipeline, forecasting outcomes, and ensuring that no opportunity falls through the cracks. AI adoption is reshaping how sales teams prioritize and engage prospects, making it essential to understand how these tools support outreach and decision-making. Clear communication reduces rework and supports stakeholder alignment, both internally with product and operations teams and externally with customers and partners. Continuous learning keeps skills relevant in fast-moving markets, ensuring that the representative remains effective as buyer expectations and technology evolve over time.
Questions to ask
Worth asking in any interview: how the team measures success, who the role works with daily, what the onboarding looks like, and what the company is trying to achieve this year. Asking what past hires did well is a strong final question, as it provides insight into behaviors that drive performance in this specific environment. Keep the list short and pick the questions that matter most to you, focusing on growth, support, and expectations.
Career growth
Sales careers can move from SDR or associate roles to account executive, senior AE, manager, and director positions as performance and experience increase. Some sellers move into partnerships, account management, or revenue operations, depending on where their strengths and interests lie. Compensation typically mixes a base salary with commission tied to results, creating a direct link between effort, performance, and earnings. High performers in sales typically move into larger accounts, team leadership, or sales operations roles, provided they demonstrate consistent quota attainment and the ability to mentor others. Quota history and references carry the most weight in promotion decisions, highlighting the importance of delivering measurable results over time.
